This product answered all my 3D Pen artist prayers. So many times I would struggle to find appropriate work surfaces and run in to issues of the filament sticking or not sticking. Then if I was working with multiple pieces of a project, joining them was a hassle and I wished I had several more fingers and hands.Then I saw the 3D Mate Trio on youtube and my prayers were answered. I ordered it immediately because it took care of some many issues I had all at once. 1) provides a safe heat-resistant work surface 2) provides grooves to make perfect boxes, triangles, circles or whatever you imagine and 3) it was packaged with a Pen and high quality filament. This is a terrific 3D pen kit. I really like the pen because it has 3 different speeds. I have small hands, and I find it comfortable to hold and easily controlled. I find that it's best to only use it for 30 minutes max. It needs to occasionally cool down. The mat is fantastic. It has the various shapes in a multitude of sizes with an area to connect the shapes. It has been a game changer for me in that it's so much easier to create figures. Even if I'm creating a big stand up 3D figure, I use the mat to begin all my basic shapes. This is the 3rd 3D pen I have owned and, by far, the best. I ordered a second one, so I can have a spare.

Fun and simple to use, just follow instructions. Price is well worth it. Just be wary, my 3rd party usb adapter didn't work when trying to charge the 3d pen. I switched to an Apple usb adapter and it was fine, I switched to a different 3rd party usb adapter and it was fine. Other than that one ordeal, well worth the purchase.

The 3D pen mat is awesome, it makes drawing flat, then putting the peices together so much easier. The pen is ok, I haven't had too many problems with it, but it's not as intuitive as some of the other pens on the market. But the mat makes this worth it.

The 3Dmate mat makes using the pen so much easier. It is much bigger than I expected (12”x18”), and really well made. I can now draw straighter lines and figures. It is very easy to remove them from the mat’s grooves . I can connect all my pieces on the mat itself, which makes assembling everything much easier. The pen is easy to use and the manual and instructions are easy to understand. The provided kit also provides a holder for the pen which I really like.

Using the 3D pen along with the mat is really great. I was able to create more precise shapes and combine them together using the mat. I like that the set comes with different colored PLA filaments. The pen was really comfortable and easy to use and I was able to trace the shapes very smoothly. I really like the combo, great products and high quality, it is so much easier to work with the pen when using the mat.

So I bought this after watching a few YouTube videos showing this printer in action. Everything inside the kit was nicely packaged and if the pen had worked it would have had everything I needed to start printing and keep printing for a while. (Onto my exp) so the pen only managed to extrude about 1/4 inch worth filament before it stopped feeding anymore. I would here the motor going but it would not extrude anymore. So it was either the heating element or the feeding motor. I let it heat up plenty and tried both temps and still did not work and overall Instructions are a bit lacking. I don’t want to give this 1 star because I may have had a bad pen and the kit was nice overall so I’ll give 2 stars. You might have a better exp with your pen

We bought this for my 11 year old son for his birthday. He absolutely LOVES this and has been using it almost everyday to create lots of cool things. Fairly simple setup, and easy enough for him to learn to use on his own without help, which is exactly what we wanted. He's loved creating even just basic geometric 3D shapes.I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a creative and cool birthday gift.
