Q: For size 8 1/2 would you go with medium or large? Size up or down?

I would go with medium. I wear a 9 1/2 wide or 10 shoe and the large size fits just fine. They have a tendency to stretch so I think medium would be perfect.

Q: Are these snoozies or slumbies? Love my snoozies but when I ordered another style, they turned out to be slumbies. They did not fit well :-(

Q: Is the fit tight for a high in step?

I have a different version (color and theme), but believe they are fine for a high instep. The top of the slipper is somewhat flexible and would fit a considerably higher instep than what I have.
