I'd forgotten what a great band they were
Recently rediscovered Humble Pie via the Smokin'/Performance albums. I'd forgotten what a great band they were. The Definitive Collection is a great overview of their career. Let's face it, any album that kicks off with Natural Born Boogie has to be "Smokin'".

Influential Blues
Great album, bluesy and rocky. I was too young at the time to know of this music. The 60s were indeed an e xciting time where music was at its best.

Brilliant
Sensational. Whisked me right back to the early 70s...the high water mark of popular music. Evidence aplenty that the Pie got the best end of the deal in the vocal & guitar departments with Marriott & Frampton. The Faces just got Rod & Ronnie ! A tad under rehearsed? Maybe, but that just adds to the terrific semi-improv style.

A tasty slice of the Pie!
This excellent compilation is a great way to start for anyone new to this very underrated band. Sound quality is very good and the cd contains a good mixture of rockers, ballads and a few live tracks.

Good band in its day and still enjoy it today
First had this band on tape many years ago, and played it to death. Good band in its day and still enjoy it today, good old fashion rock and boogie.

Essential Pie collection!
At last! But we could do with the whole collection being given the treatment particularly Smokin'.Essential car album - use cruise control or it will be expensive!
