Big PeatSherry Storm Edition

Sherry finished Islay malts are rare. This 500 bottle limited release is more rare. It didn't disappoint. 2 casks at most would provide 500 bottles. Aroma of salty see air, and hints of smoke and sherry. Taste is similar, but it is not a monster in anyway. At 50% ABV it can improve with a little water without loss of flavour. Reasonably priced, so I got four. No cartons with any of them. I would buy whisky more often from here, if the packaging was not such a safety concern. I am not sure if there is shortage of some scrap cardboard filler material, to stop the bottles from crashing around in the box. 2 bottles have damage to the wax seal. The packaging is a disaster waiting to happen.

Im far from a man of experience, my drinking adventures in Whiskey have only occured in the last couple of years. However, this seems to be my top choice. I've tried most of the well known bottles and all of the Islay's within budget but this blend just seems to hit the mark. I was never a big fan of the peaty bottles but maybe its an age thing, I've really come around to love this one.Its hard to tell if this is better than the normal Big Peat, Id say it is, but not by a huge amount for me.
