Mixed media artists, look elsewhere. Pumpkin painters, look elsewhere
I've had good fun with these, though I don't think they'd work well on pumpkins because they're so transparent. I've used them on 3 pieces now, and I can say they're not terrible. Maybe just get the normal set. So far as I can tell, this Halloween set features fewer colors at a higher price. If you get the normal set with a larger color range, you or your kids will have more options for creating as you go forward.Blending colors is challenging with these. If you're working on a larger piece you'll have to do small sections if you want to blend the colors while they're still wet. These are not precision instruments and they do not do well on textured paper, so I recommend smoother paper in a fairly large size, at least 9"x12" or preferably 11"x14". For each of the pieces in the photos, I had to pull out my silky crayons to fill in small spaces or help adjust colors. This particular set is just not for grown-up artists.
