Beautiful whistle - sounds great feel great!

Yup, it's loud. I'm not sure I'd call it "Jumbo" but that's all relative. The important thing is it puts out enough volume my wife feels she needs to protect her ears when she uses it. I'm half deaf so it doesn't challenge me as much. This whistle arrived very well packaged, including in its own semi-hard plastic case. The (nice) included lanyard makes me think I'll just hang it somewhere when I'm not using it. We'll see. The mouthpiece is a nice touch and we'll probably use it. The whistle appears to be of the high quality that's claimed. It's brass. The ball (rattle) inside is made of cork. I established that independently before coming back to this site to realize that's what is claimed. Cork should have a good lifetime. And if it fails, a new piece of cork can probably be sufficiently compressed and squeezed through the appropriate opening to make a replacement. Consequently, I predict this whistle can have a very long, useful lifetime. We'll be using it out on the river in our tandem kayak where state law says we have to have a device like this whistle. The lanyard means I'll have it around my neck. The cork ball means even if the whistle gets wet, no harm should be done. It's a solid, useful product!

I would never buy this product again. It was searching for a jumbo gold whistle and this is a standard size and was extremely expensive.

The HUTOU Whistle L5523 Brass Whistle is nice whistle. It has a quality feel & finish. No sharp edges or burrs that I've found. The lanyard is also nice. The "mouth grip" is a bonus, as is the storage case. Most importantly for a whistle, it has a good tone and it is loud. It is not jumbo sized in my opinion; I would call it 'normal' sized.I had a similar whistle a generation ago that I used as a Boy Scout volunteer & soccer coach. My son is now at that stage in life and I will be pleased to present him with this whistle - no reservations.

This is a top-end whistle. It is beautifully made. All edges and components are rounded, with no sharp edges, burrs or points to snag or cut you (as is often the case with cheap sheet-metal whistles). It is beautifully finished, all shiny and golden. It has real heft, weighing 29g or 1.0 ounce, and feels like it will last a lifetime. It comes with a very nice breakaway lanyard and a silicone tooth protector. It is really very loud - painfully loud at full blast. It will get people's attention from across a large parking lot. It will deter an attacker in any remotely public place and it will deter bears in the woods. In the quiet wilderness, it could signal rescuers over large distances. It's a wonderful whistle and a great item for every day carry.

I have a variety of survival kit whistles that I test by giving them a good puff and then considering if it was loud. Then giving a harder puff to see if it matters. This whistle is in a completely different league. I gave it the normal test puff and the thing scared me it was so loud. It was check to see if the neighbors are coming to see why what the problem is. Oh geez this thing is loud. I did not give it a harder puff. No way.The product description says this is a jumbo whistle. I disagree. That’s the reason for adding a photo to this review showing that it’s about two inches long, not counting the lanyard loop. Some people will want a big whistle instead of an insanely loud one.The lanyard is OK, but I tossed it and replaced it with a piece of cord.
