Q: Is it easy to rotate from horizontal to vertical and back again?

Yes, depending on the size of your tv you may have to tighten the ball joint bolt on the arm closest to the tv (Special wrench is included with the mount). Then you basically can rotate the tv 360 degrees and it will stay in the position you want it. Just make sure that you have enough slack in the cables to rotate as needed without ripping out cables.

Q: What is the distance of holes on bracket you mount on the wall ?

Since I installed this in a friend's home I can't measure it now. I used the mounting bracket as a template and, after making sure it was vertical with a level, drilled two 1/2" holes in the drywall. Two toggle bolts later it was on the wall and the 32" flat screen was up and running. Good luck!
