Forthose challenging to reach places
I got this primarily for use in the garden, I had been increasingly frustrated by the tools I had with their inability to get a close cut to the items around them, sometimes damaging neighbouring items, I saw a Japanese saw in use on a video and came searching on Amazon and came across this perfect product that fits easily in both my tool belt and in my toolbox when I'm doing more significant work around the garden. The folding nature of it makes it convenient as well as small enough to be easily stored and safe so I don't snag hands or gloves on it. It also allows me to include grandchildren in the tool collection without as much concern for sharp tools. Never too early to learn safe tool use.The only thing I've needed to get used to is inherent to the type of saw this is and really is the reason I now have this one, I need to be mindful of knuckle clearance more than with western-designed tools that seem to have a natural clearance.

Fell apart after a month
When folded out for use the clasp to hold the handle frequently unlatches causing the handle to twist

Effective, compact- finish needs some work
A powerful, handy little saw- cuts easily smallish branches under 30mm, easy to manipulate and manuoeveur in tight places. Makes short work of its' task, frightenly more effective than a bigger saw. The blade is quite flexible which on first use takes some getting use to, but the speed and efficiency of cut is good. The butterflied handles contain the saw blades when not in use and open easily to present the saw teeth, perhaps the greatest disappointment is the finish of the wooden handles which are held in place by small Allen screws. The wood handled surface isn't well finished, being rough-ish to the touch and the Allen heads protruding above the surface probably may form blisters if not corrected- I have reset them and intend to sand the wood surface to a less rough effect as tis is worth keeping.Further work will be required as the lock-loop which retains the half-handles in store mode, when opened to saw-face do not overlap the other handle- this leads tot eh handle not seemingly secure and twists during operation- lessening the rigidity of the assembly and possible leading to a fatigue failure over time- again will fix with a little filling to fit the loop over the handles.

Japanese Pull Saw with Spare Blade
This is my second pull saw, with this recent acquisition from Vine being by far the better saw, not just in terms of cutting ability, but the Cgboom pull saw feels much more comfortable in the hand and has a decent weight to it giving it a feel of quality. The package contains the saw body with one blade already in place, with a second replacement blade and Allen key as a spare. The saw and its accessories come in a really nice, velveteen, drawstring bag. The tool cuts as expected from such a saw but most importantly, leaves a really clean finish. These are great saws if you do a lot of fine joint work but they’re also perfect for flushing off dowels without damaging the workpiece.Although I could find no fault with this saw that would warrant the removal of a star from this review, I should mention that the clasp used to fix the saw closed when it’s in the shut position works fine, but when it’s fully opened and ready to use, the same clasp will not flip over to lock the open blades into place. In summary, a nice quality pull saw with decent weight and a blade with just the right flexibility to ensure a good finish to whatever your cutting. I would definitely recommend this saw.

Nice flexible saw. Good for more lightweight jobs.
I've used a pull saw for a while, and it takes a bit of getting used to but is really good for fine jobs. This is pretty good quality, the blade is for sure. The handle's a little too flexible though. When closed there's a clip that keeps it shut, but this doesn't fit over the handles when it's open for use, which is a shame.Nice sharp blade that's flexible and has both rough and fine edges. Great for cuts close to the surface and gentle pulling on more delicate items. Works on thicker wood too, although the pull action means you don't get so much force behind it. You also have the rough cut facing you rather than underneath like with a push saw.Folds up pretty small so good for a tool bag where you need a saw on occasion.Comes with a space blade and tools, which makes it worth the little extra over some I've used.

Neat small saw, cuts well
This is a great little saw. It arrives neatly presented in a surprisingly small box, with a soft draw cord pouch that also holds a spare blade and fittings. The blade is safely stored in the wooden folding butterfly handle. There is a metal safety loop to hold the two pieces together. When the handles are opened my first impression was that they felt flimsy and that the metal loop that works well on closed handles doesn’t hold the handles together in the open position. However, the saw works very well – it is incredibly sharp and cuts very efficiently. I found the handle surprisingly comfortable considering they don’t lock together. The blade is flexible, but is easy to use.I’m impressed, good value too.

Average
A nicely designed folding pull saw but cheaply made and a little unstableThe blade is wobbly and not particularly sharp, however, a quick sharp & set is not out of the way but neededThe price is a bit high considering the lack of qualityMost of the reviews are good, maybe I got a poor productUnfortunately, it's not for me
