Christmas Music for Easy Classical Guitar

This book was exactly what I was looking for! The arrangements are very artfully done. I love the consistency -- so many other books have a few playable pieces at the beginning, then ramp up the difficulty so 3/4 of the book is unusable to me. Please note that there is no tab, so you need to be able to read music ... Selected fingering suggestions are included now and then. As an intermediate guitarist who doesn't play classical often, I can sight read these pieces without having to practice before the holidays, and they still sound nice. Like another reviewer wrote, "Who wants to practice all year to play Christmas carols?" The arrangements are such that the bass line is easy to play yet sounds full. If you are more advanced, from the bass and melody what the chord is and add your own fills. However, the pieces sound rich without that ... Very impressed! I intend to check out more books by this author.

I got this guitar book last Christmas as a very new classical player. I was able to play through a few of the melody lines immediately. It was so fun! Now this year I am able to play many of the entire pieces- with some to look forward to mastering next year! Love the simple additions to the main melody line, that even change within the same song. Just the melody lines are a lovely arrangement also. Amy also includes some fingering suggestions which is great. LOVE THIS BOOK! I came on line to see if she has written any more easy books!! Thanks for making Christmas "playable!"

I’ve been playing classical guitar for a year now, and I love Christmas songs. This is a really nice collection of easy classical guitar Christmas songs, and I’m really enjoying the ones I am able to play. I definitely can see myself growing into this book more and getting a lot of use out of it in the future.

I see so many books that say beginner and you get them and they are anything but beginner. This book has simple arrangements for the people who are wanting to see if classical is something they want to peruse. I would recommend this book for those people.

So bizarre — the first half of this is Christmas duets for French horns, and then it gets to the guitar music. I’m about two months into classical guitar lessons and many of these songs are feasible for me now if I just play the melody line, and if I really work hard I can play a line at a time of the whole thing.

The book arrived with minor tears on a couple of pages but not enough to make reading difficult. Other than that, everything ok.

The arrangements in this piece are terrible. I consider myself an intermediate guitarist and I enjoy sight reading books such as this one provided that the arrangements are beautiful. In this book, the author attempted to use as many open bass strings as possible, even when the bass note is incorrect. So you play through the pieces, which are overly basic, and you realize that it just doesn't sound right. I bought this book because the 'Look Inside' feature didn't have any example pieces, however, it said that this is for beginner to intermediate guitarists. Maybe the colorful juvenile looking cover should have told me that this book is for kids. However, if I had a kid I would not want them to play music that isn't arranged properly. My advice, is please provide one or two free pieces in the look inside portion so you can get an idea of the quality. I wouldn't give it one star because provided that this is for very, very little kids then maybe it achieves its purpose.
