Great movie and since I cannot convince my parents to watch the anime this can give them emotional damage

Loved this movie..really happy i took a chance n got it..great music and the piano playing scenes are absolutely amazing. A sad but exciting movie all the way to the finish. Disc worked great and shipping was very fast.

This is definitely a region free import. You can tell because the cover opens backwards, and the English subtitles are not timed as meticulously as an American edition should be. Being a live action adaptation, the anime hyperbole has been toned down; which is expected and appropriate. The main plot is there, it’s just been vastly consolidated to make it feature film length. Meaning many of the side plots and the characters involved are left out: like Saito , Emi, Takeshi and his sister Nagi, Miike, and Kosei’s cat Chelsea. However, Hiroko Seto and her daughter are there, but they are introduced much earlier in the story. The implication of that is she never would have pulled away from the Arima family over guilt of her perceived role in Kosei’s tragedy; the only major change. There is considerably less inner monologue and flashbacks as well; so the story is not told from an artists point of view nearly as much as the more involved original. In the end it will still tug at your heart like the original did though. If you are a fanatic of the story as I am, you will want to add this to your collection.

It's an engaging movie. A brilliant but subdued (after the death of his mother) young pianist is coaxed into playing by an energetic young violinist. The cast mixes well together. The movie is a couple of hours but it moves along quite well. Worth watching.

Sad movie. I thought the main lead female was gorgeous.

The movie did wonderful for the anime and manga. Even knowing the ending, it was still moving and the main characters did such a great job in their roles. I truly enjoy Kento Yamazaki as he is a great actor who can efficiently portray any character style in any role to the best of his abilities.

Like most live action adaptations, it tries to appeal to the already existing fanbase as opposed to broadening it. If you like the show, you can appreciate pieces in this. If you are unfamiliar with the show, you'll most likely be lost trying to fill in the gaps.
