Can't Buy A Thrill

Anscheinend habe ich das Glück, dass mein Vinyl keine Mängel aufweist. Die Platte läuft einwandfrei durch.Da ich die Originalpressung nicht kenne, kann ich auch nichts zum Sound/Remastering sagen. Generell kenne ich die Band nur vom Namen her, vielleicht aus dem Radio. Aber für 14,95 kann man nicht viel falsch machen. Habe ich mir gedacht.

Per chi non possiede questo album questa è la volta di poter acquistare un pezzo di storia del rock/pop/jazz americano imprescindibile. Remaster in vinile superlativo, tra vecchie versioni in vinile e cd per me questa è la quarta copia che ho acquistato.

I purchased this prior to getting a copy of the 2-LP UHQR 45 RPM pressing released by Analogue Productions, and the comparison is interesting.First of all, this album is no sonic masterpiece--it doesn't suddenly become a dazzling demo album. But what Bernie Grundman's mastering does is bring out best whatever is left on the tapes. Apparently, Bernie mastered the UHQR vinyl as well as high-resolution digital releases in this series, and this digital version is what was used for this far less expensive album release.The sonics on both records is very close. And to its credit, for once there is a Universal (UMe) release that was pressed on vinyl that wasn't noisy. While it probably won't approach a perfect first pressing (made when the tapes were fresh), this is a good go-to version if you want sound that is probably 90% of the way to the UHQR.Time will tell as the series continues--will Royal Scam and Aja sound close to the UHQR? My guess is that Bernie's mastering of the digital versions will make them just as close.
