This dress was a splurge for me but it was on sale and I really loved the style. However, when I received it, the sleeves were WAY TOO small for my arms and wide shoulders. I would have to go two sizes up to make it comfortable in the shoulders. The rest of the dress fit well and was really nice thick material, and was super warm. I gave the dress to my little sister and she seems to like it. I just wish the sleeves and shoulders had more room for wide shouldered women like myself.

5'8", 195lbs. I got the XXL. Sizing in review is based on its state AFTER washing. THIS FABRIC IS NOT PRE-SHRUNK.The fit itself is as to be expected, with a little extra room that you can draw in with the belt. Be warned, there is a significant amount of shrinkage after wash, even when following the washing instructions (wash cold, tumble dry low).The picture shows the comparison. In my experience all shrinkage happens vertically. I haven't noticed enough of a different across the body when trying them on before or after to make any note of.Picture compares the blue dress unwashed and washed vs. the red dress washed. Both are the same style, same company, and from the same listing.UNWASHED: The middle of the beltloops rest at my waist and the bottom of the dress is just past my mid thigh.WASHED: The bottom of the belt loops end where my waist begins, so the ties are now actually about an inch above where my natural waist is. Dress is mid-thigh.You lose about an inch in the sleeves and length of the dress after washing. They still fit well enough that I felt alright buying two, especially since I needed work clothes, but that amount of shrink may not work for everyone and is pretty inconvenient as a whole. Sizing would be a little more true to form if the fabric was pre-shrunk before cutting the patterns.
