Needs some pressure but does the job
I'm not sure what I expected, but I thought this block was more wax like rather than the elastic band type texture that I discovered. However with a little bit of elbow grease it did the job of cleaning up grip tape. It also cleans a wide variety of other objects, including sanding pads and scuff marks on my skirting board. It's a little pricy but a lot more effective than stiff brushes!

Does the job it's made for
ReviewIt works great but it's a bit pricey for what it really is. The grip tape cleaner is made out of rubber cement, the very same material that is used in arts to remove masking fluid and the same as belt sander cleaning block. The only difference is that the later one is sold in much bigger chunks for similar price.Nevertheless, this is a great product that works magic on the grip tape, making it look new again. One star down for the value for money.

It really does work
My Grandson is a keen skateboarder and so I handed this item over to him to try out for me. He is not someone who gets overly excited about things, but he was really happy with this little cleaner rubber. It is not very big, but it got his skateboard really clean (the pictures show it before and after he had cleaned just the middle section for comparison). He was impressed with this as it had been really muddy. He also said the board had much more grip afterwards and he had not worn the rubber down very much so there is lots left for again.Having purchased lots of skateboard accessories for him, I feel that £9.99 for this cleaner to be relatively good value.

Versatile Applications
The WCIC Skateboard Grip Tape Cleaner has proven to be a versatile tool, extending beyond its intended use. I've been using it to clean my sanding disks, significantly speeding up the cleaning process.

Brilliant stuff
WCIC Skateboard Grip Tape Cleaner Rubber Abrasive Cleaning Stick Grip Tape Cleaner Skateboa:I don't skateboard... but I do a lot of 'out of the box' thinking and this product is great for various types of cleaning particularly Timberland boots or any shoes at that.A bit of sticky friction is great for removing marks on tan coloured suede shoes.I think someone else that reviewed this item described it as compressed rubber bands which I think is an accurate description.

Great for DIY too
I haven't been on a skateboard for a long time, but I do sand wood by hand, and this solves the problem of unclogging the sandpaper which makes it quicker and easier to work. I've had good results on 400 grit and below - I didn't bother trying with finer sandpaper, though I probably will next time I have them out.I'm so glad I came across this - at the moment it's £9 which is a bit of a no brainer.5 stars - I love it4 stars - I like it3 stars - It's ok2 stars - I don't like it1 star - I hate it

Works great, requires elbow grease
I've used similar things in the past for cleaning clogged sanding belts etc for power tools, basically this is the same thing. It can be used on scooters, skateboards, anything with a sandpaper-like surface on it. It does work really well but requires some elbow grease. It's my son who'll be using it on his stunt scooter, and he seems to think it's a pretty good product so I would recommend it to others.

Skateboard Grip Tape Cleaner
Despite its marketed purpose, I actually got this to clean sanding residue off the pads on sanding tools like my belt sander and random orbital sander. It actually works really well for that purpose and I am finding that I need to change belts/pads much less frequently, especially when sanding tough coatings like paint that tend to clog up the grit pretty quickly. Based on how little of the original stick has disappeared with my past use, I suspect it should also last a good long time as well. Highly recommend, at least for the purpose I have been using it for.

Works on Red Clay, Takes Effort
You can see a spot of red clay dirt in the 'before' picture, and how there is significantly less of it in the 'after' picture. This stick worked to clean up the dirt and red clay from the boards. Didn't get off the wax, but we didn't expect it to. It took a fair amount of effort and rubbing to get the dirt off, but on the positive side, the stick seems pretty long lasting.

Gets most dust and dirt off any griptape
I got this to try out on my skateboard. I skate a lot of street spots and some of them are extra dusty and have my black griptape looking grey. I used the grip cleaner and made my griptape look good as new!It even helps clean off thicker debris like tree berries. You have to rub a little harder but it gets even the most squished berries off my griptape. Even berries that have been stuck and dried into the grip were pretty much removed. It's good to have in your bag along with a skate tool whenever you go out on a session.

Works as well as any grip cleaner
This looks and works like similar to products I've had from skate brands. I'll give it 4 stars because it works just as well as any grip tape cleaner I've tried which all seem to be this same yellow gummi rubber substance but the problem is I just don't find any of them to work all that well. We get a lot of fine dust here which comes off somewhat but there are also globs of what I hope is wax ground into the grip on the board I tested and it didn't budge those at all. I've seen videos of people using grip cleaner blocks and getting a good result so I think it's highly dependent on what your local dirt is like. On the plus side it doesn't make any extra mess in your life by crumbling off as you rub it, the used bits stay clinging to the bar until you peel them off.
