POCUnisex Protector Hip Vpd 2.0 Shorts

I've used Dirt Dog, Dainese, and 661 protective gear before, but following a very bad accident was recommended POC, These shorts are incredibly low profile and because of the nature of the VPD material as it warms up from your body heat becomes very malleable to the point that you hardly even notice it. The great thing is that when you do take a tumble the VPD does exactly what its designed to do and stiffens to protect on impact. I wear these shorts along with POC helmet Gloves and Spine jacket for skiing and mountain biking and have found the whole set up to be superb. I could not recommend these shorts highly enough. A number of my riding and skiing buddies have now also bought them too. If I had a criticism it is that they are a little expensive but you get what you pay for.

Following a high speed off on my mountain bike that seriously bruised my hip and left me limping for weeks I started looking for some extra protection. These are incredible, covering exactly the area where I commonly impact, but best of all are very comfortable! Only negative is the rather limited chamois, not going to stop me wearing them on longer rides tough. A bit expensive but worth it for the peace of mind. No big crash yet but confident they'll work well!
