I am learning Spanish, and solidly at the intermediate level. I read a lot of fiction designed for Spanish learners. This one is different in a few ways. First of all, it’s non-fiction, with short stand-alone chapters. It’s got chapters on inventions, historical figures, natural wonders, historical sites, and animals.This book written in a way that it is useful for both English learners and Spanish learners. Each chapter begins with English, then after a few paragraphs repeats in Spanish. Then a few more paragraphs in English, then repeats in Spanish. Then continues back and forth like that. It doesn’t have vocabulary, like many bilingual books do, but I really like this format. Reading in English first is different for me, and it really helped my Spanish comprehension.It says that this book is for ages 6-10, but I am *ahem*, let’s say quite a bit older than that, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.NOTE: I saw other reviews that say that the kindle version is missing the Spanish portion of the book, but it must have been updated, because I read it on kindle and everything was there.

I'm a homeschooling mom who wanted to help advance my child's learning in Spanish and we needed some more books now that he has started reading a lot more.He's 8, so I was happy to see this book and the positive reviews for it.I had no idea this was about inventors, scientists, and engineers through our history!This is awesome! I'm so excited. Marie Curie, the Wright Brothers and more. This will fit in perfectly with his schooling.And his interests!

Learning a new language is always challenging, but resources like this book help extraordinarily! This particular book is geared towards a younger audience (seems to be around the fifth grade), but could still be useful for anyone new to either Spanish or English. There is a mix of stories, and they seem to vary slightly in difficulty (in terms of sentence structure and vocabulary). I can easily see this being in a classroom, or used as an at-home learning tool for bilingual households.

The book has interesting information on a great variety of topics. I kind of wish it had pictures to go along with each topic, but you could easily train kids to look up the topic to get an image on their mind. I like the bilingual format.

The stories are short and fun to read. However, the Kindle version is English only and I was really looking forward to improving my Spanish skills. An updated version of the Kindle version would be greatly appreciated.Despite that this could still make an enjoyable story time book for your child.

I wanted to buy something super basic and not intimidating to help me practice my very basic Spanish and I found that books for adults can be quite complex, even if they claim they're for beginners. On the other hand this book had perfect simple stories that I was familiar with anyway so I didn't have to focus so much on storyline and instead I could just practice basic vocabulary. Really good!
