A little flimsy, but definitely lightweight?
So, this is not a full scale film camera. Don't have extremely high expectations. If you've never had to load, crank, or wind film you're in for a treat. Don't let it scare you away, this is how cameras worked at one point! The build quality is subpar for how much it costs. Everything is manual here, with the exception of the flash (which you turn on by twisting the lens "barrel"). The lens is a fixed focal length (doesn't zoom) and there are no focus or exposure adjustments - which is all expected given who I assume is the audience for this camera, but given the lack of any sort of mechanics I'd expect at least a little more effort could have gone into the heft of the camera body. It feels like you're paying for the 1/2" Kodak name on the corner.Takes standard 35mm film and loads just fine. The half exposure is interesting but I haven't gotten a roll developed yet so can't comment on how the photos turn out just yet. I imagine someone in a lab somewhere has looked at the negatives and wondered what the heck happened lolThe accessories that come with this are really the star - the wrist strap is comfortable and sturdy, the case is a nice microfiber and feels like it'll protect the lens (which has literally no protection otherwise - fine because it's plastic but come on throw a manual "shutter" on it or something). The film holder, ironically, is made of metal and is HEFTY. Which begs the question again of why the camera itself feels so cheap.I will say, the sage color is nice and the shape of the camera is fun. It looks vintage. If you're looking for a fun, more-toy-than-tool way to get into film photography, this'll fit the bill. If you're hoping to get into film photography as more of a hobby, look elsewhere as this won't help you in the slightest.

LOVE IT!!
I love this camera so much! It takes half shots so takes double the amount of photos with the same film! Would recommend for anyone who is looking a snap and go film camera!

Small and not bulky
This camera is great for people with smaller hands. Just like the smaller photos this takes, this camera takes up minimal space in a bag. My new years resolution is to take some more photos and have the delayed surprise of what comes out. This item did not come with film, so don't forget to order that too!

Meh
I thought this was going to be more substantial but it feels really cheap and dinky. Honestly, if it didn't have the Kodak logo on it, I would've thought this was some knockoff film camera. I guess the good news is it's very lightweight and small but it's not great if you're really into photography. I'm no avid photographer by any means but I wanted to have a film camera I can capture nice moments of my kids and daily life with so it suffices for that, but be careful of scratching the lens as it is exposed. I will say the aluminum case that comes with it for storing film rolls is hefty and is nice but other than that I'm really not that impressed.

Love that it’s half frame really makes film more approachable
I don’t know if there is a cooler way to get kids into film than half frames .Getting that many out of a roll can make a huge difference in my opinion . I still have tons of undeveloped rolls . And that’s all on b/w film which used to be cheaper to develop. The only time it became cost effect was when I bought film in bulk, cut it my self , then developed it my self . So I think a trendy looking little half frame like this is a really neat way to get people into film .You’re getting a ton more photos per roll so it’s not outrageous expensive….I think it would be neat if they tossed in a b/w develop kit with this and included a simple iPhone film scanner thing …That would really put it over the top .

A Great Way to Get into Film Photography
Anyone who has shopped for a used film camera recently knows that film photography is making a comeback, even with the price of 35mm film still relatively high. The Kodak Ektar H35 is a great way to start your film photography journey, as the Ektar H35 is a half-frame camera, so a roll of 24 exposures will give you 48, and a roll of 36 gives you 72 photos per roll. The camera itself is very plasticy and light. That being said, it feels like it has a good build and best of all, is small and light enough to fit into a shirt or pants pocket. There are no controls on the camera, only a shutter, and an “On/Off” switch for the flash, which is powered by a AAA battery, and a film rewind button and crank. The camera can operate without the battery. The lens itself is made of plastic, and the camera has a fixed aperture of f9.5 and shutter speed of 1/100. This is a true “point and shoot” camera. Anything between 1.5 meters (about 5 feet) and infinity should be in focus. This is not a camera that will give you creamy bokeh or closeups/macro shots. It should, however, work well for general photography, as long as you have good light, a relatively steady hand (1/100 is not a fast shutter speed) and use a film with an ISO of at least 200.The camera has a retro look to it. It looks to me like a Kodak Instamatic from the 1960s/1970s. This kit comes with a very nice (and sturdy) film holder, as well as 100 4x6 photo sleeves, a soft carry case, and a strap. I would suggest using the strap, as a fall of any distance on a hard surface can easily damage the camera.A kit like this is a great introduction to film photography, especially if you have never tried it before and don’t want to spend a lot on expensive film.I am about halfway through a roll of 36, so I will update this review with photos once I get the roll developed. Yes, you will get to see photos of my two golden retrievers.Recommended!Photo samples added October 3, 2023
