easy peel citrus
I have had this for over a month. Each morning I make fresh juice. No problems at all. The pulp is damp - but I cannot squeeze much out of it. 6 apples gives me 750mml. 4 apples gives me enough for breakfast. Have used melons, strawberries, grapes, easy peel citrus, and all were excellent and tasty. It takes me about 3 minutes to take to pieces and wash it up and less than that to extract the juice. I suspect that spending 10 times as much might improve the out put but for its price I find it efficient and easy to use. I note some people have suggested that the top is too fragile - well I am ham handed but by firmly holding the plastic lid, as advised by the instructions, before engaging the metal lock, I have failed to cause any breakages. I think it pretty good value.

Incredibly efficient and easy to use juicer.
The amount of juice you get from each item is pretty phenomenal. It's easy to use, easy to clean and is a steal at the price. (I paid about £50 for it from Amazon).I watched Fat sick and nearly dead and this is the juicer I bought following seeing the film. Sturdy quality, efficient and works. The pulp left behind is a tiny bit wet, but after trying to put it through the machine again to see how much juice wasn't being drained from it, hardly anything came out. Bottom line is that it works first time every time. 100% recommend.

Works easily, juices well, cleans in dishwasher
I bought this in the Amazon Warehouse, so got it for a very good price. It is quite a large item, but a lot of its bulk is the waste bucket on the left side of the machine. This is where all the remains of your juiced fruit and veg end up - the pulp.Following a tip from another reviewer I have bought a pack of small compostable bags, and I line the waste bucket with one - this means I don't have to clean this part out, and I just drop the bag into my compost heap.It is easy to assemble - and comes as second nature once you've done it a couple of times. The black plastic cup looks a bit drab, so I put a nice glass jug under the spout to catch the liquid. There are 2 speeds - 1 is for soft fruit items and 2 is for the harder stuff, like apples and carrots. It isn't as noisy as I had expected it to be - more a buzzing / whirring sound than anything else. The pulp comes out quite dry - which I am assured is the sign of a good juicer, and the juice is - as you might have guessed - a million times better than anything you can but in the shops. You can rinse it all out in the sink or put it in the dishwasher. The only part you don't put into water is the motor unit - the bit where the electric cable comes out of. Cleaning is a bit of a faff, as there are so many parts to clean! My favourite drink is grapefruit and ginger - delicious. There are some recipes in the small handbook (leaflet) but it is common sense really - if you like to eat it as fruit, you'll love to drink it as juice!Carrots are surprisingly sweet, and with a dash of soy sauce they make a very nice drink indeed. My better half has promised me that I will be allowed to experiment with fruit juice and alcohol at some point in the future, so that's another bonus of juicing.

I would not recommend this item at all
I would not recommend this item at all, and I have been juicing since 2000. It leaks so much that each time you use it, your worktop will need to be cleaned along with everything else. The pulp is excessively wet which is not good. The fruit pusher allows fruit to rise up the chute which is shouldn't do. From the leak the speed button on the front is now sticking and let me tell you this does not even take a whole apple, and i'm using Royal Gala apples and they as most people will be aware are fairly small in diameter. It does not push the pulp into the container at all, it still all collects in the plastic lid. I have only had this one week and I'm already fed up with it. I had, had a long time ago predecessor The Juice Lady made also by Russell Hobbs and this machine is still going strong, I gave it to my married daughter last week as she expressed an interest, so I thought I would stick with the brand I knew. Such a shame not worth the time and or money, please avoid.

Burnt Motor on first use
I ordered this juicer in excitement as I wanted to do a total body reboot. On first use, the juice spilled all over the unit instead of into the jug. There was a burning smell so I had to switch it off.I have returned it for a refund. My assessment is that there must have been an electrical issue (i.e. from the factory) with the particular one I received.I have other Russell Hobbs products in my house and they work just fine. Thanks,

Not What I Expected...
So I recently decided to overhaul my diet and lifestyle, after much deliberation.I decided I wanted to add some veggie juice to my day. I already have a decent blender that makes a cracking smoothie but wanted a machine to make a smooth juice. I didn't want to spend too much and this one had ok reviews. After the first use, I was regretting my decision a bit! I found a delicious looking recipe and popped 3 apples, half a punnet of strawberries and a small bag of spinach in it. (I think the machine itself is quite noisy by the way.) It blitzed it up in about 20 seconds. I was so dissapointed by the amount of wastage! So much pulp remained and I think I could habe given it another squueze really. Going from putting everything in my blender and drinking the entire contents, I was shocked. It produced just under 200ml of liquid!! That's not even a full glass! That being said, the juice that was made was smooth and no bits remained. Then the cleaning... was reasonably easy until you got to the actual chopping part, which took more work. I guess I am a simple girl!I think you'll be spending a heck of a lot, buying half the supermarket and missing a lot of nutrients by doing it this way! But each to their own.
