My sprinkler system is almost all schedule 40 PVC, so I go through a lot of these type pipe cutters doing maintenance. This is the first I've used with the "SK5" type blade. It seems to put the starting blade pressure in a more concentrated area and I assume will keep thinner wall pipe from flexing, flattening, and cracking like the straight blades can do? It's amazingly similar to many of the other PVC pipe cutters I see on this site. I see similar ratchet design and safety lock. Most are currently listed at just under $10 to a little over $20. Read the description carefully on those though. Most say they cut up to 1-1/4 inch diameter pipe. This one claims 1-5/8 inch pipe capacity. I cut some 1 1/2 inch, so I think that's accurate.Current 10% off coupon so at just over $12? They work well and I'd recommend.

Used this cutter for hard 15 year old PEX and very happy with how smooth the cut was and no misshaping of the PEX.

This pipe cutter works like a dream! I would always cut pvc piping with a hand saw and they always come out messy and uneven. I finally got the chance to get a pipe cutter and It is one of the best investments I have made on myself. I cut many PVC piping of all sizes frequently and these makes it so much easier and cleaner. This tool does short work on even thick PVC and cuts extremely cleanly and with ease.I have not had any issues with cutting any piece of PVC and have cut up to the 1-5/8 inch max and it works beautifully! This tool is very durable and it feels very good quality. It is not so flimsy like some that I have seen in the store. I have dropped this countless times but this keeps going strong! I like the bright yellow color so I know I will not lose this anytime soon. If you cut a lot of PVC for either home projects or jobs, this will make your life 200% easier!I would highly recommend this great tool and for the price I would say it is worth the time it will save you!

This pipe cutter is ultra sharp out of the box. It contains a ratcheting feature for cutting with ease. I tested this cutter while working on plumping in my house and it performed its job well. The cutter's blade is made from a thick and sturdy metal while the handle is made from a thinner material. I only have two complaints with this product. The first being that the latch to keep the cutter closed while not in use is very thin and not well aligned. This can be frustrating, but does not significantly impact performance. The second issue is that releasing the ratcheting mechanism creates a very loud sound. This sound could hurt your ears if using the cutters indoors. Other than those two minor complaints, this is a great product that cuts PVC pipes well.

I don't need to use cutters that often but it's nice having a decent pair on hand. These cutters handle PVC and CPVC well enough and aren't uncomfortable on the hand or wrist. I've only had to use them a few times but they worked great and I expect them to let me several years to come. Definitely would recommend for the occasional user.

These are junk! Cutting 1 1/4 inch pvc blade moves side to side won't cut square. After second cut a huge nick in blade threw in trash! Going to homedepot to buy a pair of rigid!!!

This PVC pipe cutter works nicely and has a nice sharp blade. It cuts efficiently and is an overall good product. From the look and feel of the parts, I think it is well-made, but I do not think it is as solidly built as my other PVC cutters. I don’t think there will be any issue with that in the near future though.Overall, it is a good product that I would consider ordering again if the value were right in comparison to similar cutters.
