Basic but Functional Senior Mobile Phone
This senior mobile phone earns a mixed review from me. While its big buttons and easy magnetic cable charger cater to elderly users, I found its overall functionality to be rather basic. The lack of advanced features may limit its appeal to tech-savvy seniors. However, the unlocked SIM and SOS button provide essential functionality for emergency situations. Overall, it's a functional option for seniors in need of a straightforward mobile phone, but those seeking more advanced capabilities may need to look elsewhere.

Basic but expensive for what it is phone
I have owned and reviewed multiple smartphones on Amazon, including ones aimed specifically at older adults who may need phones to accommodate sight impairments or manual dexterity issues. This is the first time I have reviewed one by this particular manufacturer, SWISSVOICE. At the time of review in early April 2024, this S510-M is listed at £149.99.I have tested this for a week using a GiffGaff PAYG SIM card. It comes in a sturdy branded box, which is much bigger than it needs to be. Inside are the phone (parts), charger, cable and instructions. When it arrived, unusually for a phone, it required assembling. This for me was an instant concern for something marketed at the elderly, who may not be tech-savvy. I think tech should be simple to use, no matter how tech-savvy the customer. However, once the SIM card was inserted, I found a few other issues. For a start, the buttons feel very cheap, and have the look and feel of a toy, rather than a smartphone. Even though I have good manual dexterity, I found the physical buttons quite slow and almost unresponsive to use. That said, the screen is a decent enough size, and the touchscreen was good and responsive and was easy to navigate. The ringtones are basic, but very loud for those who are hard of hearing. Battery life seems okay. I have tested this on a couple of calls, and the sound quality is pretty good, and the speaker volume is also good and clear. In summary, there are some good features with this phone, but one or two significant issues let it down. Also, at the current price it is quite expensive for a relatively unknown brand (you can get major branded smartphones for around £50 cheaper on Amazon).

Works great
This Android phone has been designed with elderly people in mind, but is really a basic Android phone using Android 12 Go Edition, which is a basic, cut down version of the OS. It works absolutely fine, just without some of the more advanced bells and whistles, which I would suspect would be overkill for the audience it's intended for.You can run the phone in standard Android mode if you wish, but there is also a launcher built in to allow an even more functionally basic interface with bigger icons to suit the audience. It generally works well, but, as it is in fact a standard Android phone, it may be best to have a more experienced and tech savvy person set it up before handing it to it's intended user.Build quality is generally good, certainly more than acceptable for the price of the device. There are nice little touches added to the device too, such as a torch that's activated by a physical slider switch and an emergency button that can be programmed to call specific people in such situations.Overall I think this is a great product, that's significantly better than most offerings out there for this segment of the market. It offers all the features of a full Android device, with an interface that's much easier to live with.

Confusing
I am very confused by this phone. I have an apple phone which does not have the required micro SIM card so I cannot insert a sim to test the connection. However I did boot the phone up to try connection to my wifi and the applications installed. I am pretty good with phones, computers and tablets having worked with them most of my life and got completely frustrated with this device so much so I turned it off.It asked me multiple questions (as normal) for set up. Once booted up all the applications are out of date and required downloading, more questions then security had been setup to not allow me to download and then install said apps. It’s also all centred around google and the applications associated with google. If you are ok with those it will probably be much easier or you have a younger member of the family also great. For an elderly relative forget it, it’s far too complicated to setup.
