Software filled with viruses, malware, and no working drivers
This product does not work out of the box. It requires software that must be downloaded from a sketchy overseas website that the instruction video directs you to. It also mandates that you disable your firewall and virus scanners.... because if you don't they find a series of dangerous virus and malware attacks that launch on your PC.Contacting support is an effort in futility. They just keep telling you to download the unsafe software and watch the video. They don't appear to understand that nothing they are saying will actually make the product work. Assuming that you do go through with this process (I tried it in a virtual environment) you'll still end up with something that doesn't work because the drivers necessary to talk to your Toyota or Lexus vehicle have been removed from the Internet. So in the end you have a virus filled PC, pirated software, and a cable that still won't talk to your car. Stay far, far away from this product.

Used to program keys for 2018 Prius 👍.
Bought the cable for: $45.35Decent quality cable with enough length and feels pretty sturdy. Was worried that the software would be only in the CD but thankfully the seller provided a QR code to download the required software.Initially had trouble to get the cable and software to connect, but finally I installed all the provided 3 drivers for the cable into Techstream and the last one I added worked when I set it in Techstream (Instructions provided didn't mention this driver, but I gave it a shot and it worked so that's all that matters). Also, to reduce risk to my laptop, I used a Virtual machine(using Virtual Box - got videos on Youtube on how to setup one) and installed the software with drivers into it to connect with the car.Note: The instructions(including the video) provided were for v17 of techstream, but I referred to other online instructions for v18(software provided in the QR code) and managed to get it to work. I informed the seller(who reached out to me to see if I had any issues) about the mismatch with the instructions. For the replacement keys, I got 2 cheap keys for about 83$.Overall pretty happy with the purchase and yet to use it to checkout the other features of Techstream.

Useless without software
Useless product without the working software or key to used with Techstream. Would not suggest to buy this one.

Could not get the software to work
I could not get the software to work. It did install, but the instructions were in Chinese and I could not get it to connect to by vehicle. There was a link to a video to show how to install and set it up but that was in Chinese also and very blurry so it was useless. BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

Worked on my 2010 Toyota Venza
I did not use the software that came with the unit. As others have said (and noted on other cables available on Amazon) you have to disable your anti-virus software. I DON'T THINK SO.Searching YouTube, I found links to VirtualBox (virtual machine software) and Techstream V12.20.024. The YouTube video had instructions on how to install VB and TS V12, along with the drivers for this cable.Could not get TS V12 to work -- the software key would not take. However, along with the software I downloaded, was also a folder containing Techstream V10. I installed it on a "throw-away" Windows XP laptop (not connected to the household LAN, just in case there was virus software lurking about), but it worked and seemed to be clean. Not sure how much functionality I lost with the older TS, but it allowed me to change some settings in my car.A lot of effort to get it to work, but now I have another tool at my disposal.

I'll never be comfortable being instructed to turn off my anti-virus.
Very poor instructions. The big concern I have is the very first line of the instructions, telling you to disable all anti-virus software and firewalls. I had no intention of doing this on my regular computer, so I setup a new/clean copy of windows on an old laptop, not connected to my network, and proceeded. The only anti-virus in use was Defender, so I disabled it. During the Techstream installation I Still got malware and ransomware warnings. Not sure why these warnings would occur with Defender disabled. I decided I had been foolish for even going this far and felt that stopping this process was the safest thing to do.I blame myself for not fully reading this product's description, as it does mention turning off the anti-virus. This could be a perfectly safe product, but I'll never know.
