Works with FI
I'm super excited to say this router works out of the box with Google FI network. All I did was switch out the sim with a Google Data sim, which worked like magic. This is a way cheaper route to go than other sim routers I researched with basically plug-and-play workability! You will still need to set up the network, ie name, and password, but that's the same with any device.

Disposable 2 gig modem.
Their 'data" plans are full of ridicule. I bought it to use with another SIM card, as ADVERTISED... but turns out, I can not use any SIM card. TOTAL RIP OFF! Their 'Data" plans are third world extortion! The 2 gigs were not enough to even order more data from their website ( not like an intelligent person would pay their prices anyway). This IS NOT A CELLULAR INTERNET ALTERNATIVE! IT IS A SCAM! THIS WAS A PURCHASE MISTAKE. YOU CAN NOT USE 'OTHER" SIMS IN THIS DEVICE!

Originally couldn't get to work. Fixed issue!
Bought to use but does not work with at&t chip...Update.Was able to get the product to work. Connects up to 10 devices via wifi. Will need change apn to connect to service providers not preloaded.Good second option.

Useless
This modem should be sold specifically to AT&T sim plan subscribers ONLY. If you do not subscribe to data the SIM card is useless. You can't use a different or data based SIM card. So unless you want to spend a crazy amount of money on very limited data I'd avoid this useless modem at all costs.

A great alternative way to get internet service
So my idea for this was a little unusual. I know it's intended purpose is for home use, and to be used as a home internet solution. I'm sure it works fine for that, but I had other ideas. I have a lot of trouble with my mobile provider, who I won't name, with signal quality. My idea then, was to use this, in my car as a mobile hotspot that had it's own data connection that I could use. In theory it's simple, set this router up with the included SIM card, then take it to my car and run it off an inverter. Turns out, it can run off of a micro-USB cable, so I don't even need the inverter.I set it up with my phone. The instructions tell you to scan a QR code and put in the ICCID there, and I did that, but had no internet after connecting to the router's WiFi. It's a little less clear about it, but you have to log in through the admin portal and set up the APN as well. You can also do this with your phone, or if you plug it in to your computer (or connect your computer to it with WiFi, that should work as well). Once set up and connected I was pretty amazed at how fast it was, since it's using 4G mobile data. The included SIM uses the AT&T network, and it seems to work a lot better in my area than my current mobile provider. The four giant antennas probably help a lot on that front as well. I haven't been able to test it in my car yet, but after doing the set up and getting it working in my house, I think it will work very well for that purpose as well.

Couldn’t get to work
I tried for week to get this hotspot router to work. I paid for the service which was 9 dollars never got my money back for the service nor could I get the router to connect to the internet. My suggestion just fork up the cash and go to Verizon wireless or another major carrier. Do not buy

Did not work
Transmits SSID, does not receive from T-mobile network. With SIM installed properly, device reads T-mobile and starts a timer, but the device has no connection to the provider. Nothing resolved issue. Not rebooting, verification of the operations settings, clearing from devices and reconnecting all to no avail. Sent back. T-mobile provides a free mobile hotspot when you add a data line. So, went that route.
