FringeKalm, Breathing Tool for Deeper Breathwork

It helped me be intentional with my breathing, slowing it down and forcing me to breathe deeply. I liked it a budget option compared to Komuso whistle which was around 70$. I found it pretty intuitive and easy to use, and I also like the size, it's easy to carry around and not heavy at all.

Very nice packaging. Esthetically pleasing. Comes with two different chains. One metal, one cord. I love the tin it comes in. In fact I use the tin more than this device. This doesn't do anything you can't do without it. It's a reminder to breathe. It's a metal tube shaped like a whistle but no sound. I personally don't find any benefit in this. That's not to say someone else could. I'm sure this would help someone else who would like something physical to hold to remind them to breathe during anxiety or panic attack. For me it's just something that takes up space, that I have to carry all the tine, that I really don't need. To me it's nothing special. My expectation was that it would somehow control or slow my breath that would result in anxiety relief. Grab a straw and count as you do anxiety breaths, its the same thing only fancy. I gave it 3 stars because they did a great job in making this product. It's nice. The packaging was too. It just didn't work as I imagined it would and it doesn't benefit me. The moment you start focusing on your breath, you actually cannot focus on anything else. Well at least that's been my experience with meditation. And, any breathing technique (especially Pranayama practised in Yoga) can be an extremely effective way to destress and improve wellness.This particular pack is marketed as a way to improve breathing. While we give credit for some clever marketing and packaging, there is actually an element of wisdom that has been packed into this little device. At heart this package essentially is a nicely made whistle-like tube that can be worn on your neck. The rest of the package has a pouch and a few basic instructions on how to use the tube to exhale once you have held your breath for a few seconds. In reality you do not need any such tube to control your breath or to do breathing exercises. However the device is a good mechanical way to get you started especially if your mind or your hands tend to wander a bit. In my own experience with this device, I thought for the novice beginners this kind of tool may help get started and provide some stress relief too. I give credit to the makers of this package in thinking broadly and coming up with and nicely packaged product that actually has some scientific basis to it. The one thing that we have all noted with great annoyance is the extremely high price set for this product which makes little sense. I think a product like this should cost at least $20 less but I will not rule out the usefulness of this device and what it aims to accomplish. So for those reasons I think four stars is probably an appropriate rating for this product. By the way do try meditation, if you don’t buy this product. You wont then have any reason to regret anything in life, even the higher price for this product.

I was really excited about this when I first saw it. The price was high, but I kept coming back to it because I believe in the benefits of breath work. I was really bummed when I got this - it’s basically a metal straw. No rivets, no backpressure or anything, it’s literally like blowing into a random pipe. I have done my research and I know there is some science here, but I am not seeing it. After using a few times, the condensation from my breath started building up in the middle of the pipe and I can only imagine it gets nasty over time. It comes with a chain to wear around your neck. I can’t imagine pulling this from my shirt in public and blowing through it. I was kinda let down - I think this could be a cool product if designed well.
