2 Key Fob Keyless Entry Remote fits Ford Transit Focus Fiesta F150 F250 F350 Escape C-Max 2011-2016 High Security

Okay, so I bought this key despite the abysmal reviews here on Amazon. From reading those reviews, it appeared that most purchasers were ignorant about what they needed to do to get this to work (mine did not include instructions, so here I am writing some). Mine works great, but there are 3 things that you need to do to get this to be completely functional:1. You need to have this key cut at your local hardware store. My local store did not charge me a thing for this. Note: this is the first thing that needs to be done so that the key will turn the ignition (but won't start the car until step 2 is completed)2. You need to have the chip inside the key programmed to your car so that the key will actually start the vehicle (this could be the most difficult step, so let me explain):The hardware store that cut my key could not program my chip (their machine was incompatible). You could find a locksmith in your area that can do it (they could have cut the key too). DO NOT take it to the dealership. They will NOT program this key for you. They will charge you for a new key and the "labor" of programming it (mine quoted me at $250+).You could also reprogram your car using a Windows program like ForScan (this is what I did) so that it accepts the key. The latter option requires a ELM327 OBD2 scanner that can be connected to the computer. I bought one here on Amazon for $25 and obtained a copy of ForScan for free on their website (use Google). Note that this process is somewhat technical, so I don't recommend you do this unless you feel ambitious enough to learn about it.3. After Steps 1 and 2, your key will lock/unlock the doors and start the vehicle, but the fob portion (the buttons on the key) will not yet work. To do that, you need to put the car into programming mode. Different models/years have different ways of going into programming mode, but typically it involves turning the key in the ignition for a certain number of turns followed by pushing a button. It's very easy to do and is definitely the easiest step. Google: "ford key fob programming" and follow any of the very useful links.I hope this helps, it sounds like a lot of work, but it saved me a bunch of money from the dealership. Great key!

I was hesitant to order both keys at once. Got one first to see how it will work.Like other reviews, the key has two functions:1. the Remote Control2. Starting the Car.I first tested the remote control and it worked after multiple of trails and errors, I had to chat online with customer care, who was very responsive on their website (They will ask you the order and name to pull from their system) , we did program the car with him on the live chat. to successfully program it, I had to open the driver side door and do the 8 times thing and press any key on the new key remote, then closed the door, it worked. The remote worked fine however the PANIC BUTTON did not work at all, maybe my car does not have that programmed or doesn't haven't that function at al. but the remote worked with no problem.Second, after I tested this I was confident that the key would work. however I only had one key so I couldn't program it by myself, my local dealer couldn't do this for me, ACE hardware told me that they can't guarantee it to work, and suggested to call a locksmith guy, who promised not to pay if it doesn't work. he went on and cut it for me, and programmed the key, t took less than 5 min and my car is now operations with this new key. l I spend in total 120$ to buy this key, cut, and program it.If I had two keys, it would cost me nothing probably the cutting fee which is 6$ at ACE Hardware.I am also buying soon the ELM327 FORScan OBD2 Adapter, I can program keys by myself with this softwareSo far I am pleased with the purchase and I am going now to order soon the second key.

The key is supposed to be the right part number for my Ford Fiesta. The locksmith said due to the type of key(?), special equipment involved, etc.??, he charged $25 per key - $50 to cut the two keys in about five minutes. This did not include any programming. I programmed them using the procedure shown in the owners manual, since the instructions were not available on the vendor's site. Both keys will manually open the doors and start the engine, but neither will accept programming for the remote lock and unlock buttons. Batteries check out good in both units, and I have repeated the programming procedure several times.Cost was $40 for 2 keys and $50 to have them cut, so I now have $90 invested in 2 keys which are not fully functional, good only as an emergency key at best. It really does not make sense to return them and start over. I am disappointed and will not be using this vendor again. Dealing over the internet works great - sometimes - and sometimes it does not.

After getting the keys cut (lock-smith, ACE did not have right cutter) got the spare keys programmed per instructions with two existing keys: both extra keys turned engine on/off. Then the next step to program the fob using the 8x RUN procedure in all its variants completely failed. Came across an alternative method that worked like a charm first time around:1. Fasten seatbelt and close all doors2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 3 seconds.3. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm programming mode.4. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on first keyless remote. The system will chime once to confirm programming.5. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on second keyless remote. System will chime once to confirm programming.6. Turn ignition to RUN to exit programming mode.

Had it cut and programmed for a 2014 Ford Fiesta by the dealership. Works great!
