Good product . . . . Poor delivery
Rustins have been offering great products for many years now, and this grain filler is no exception . . . I bought it to enhance the fading grain in my pool cue . . . And their product does not disappoint . . . Excellent coverage and ease of application makes for a satisfying result . . . I would have scored 5 on the review but the delivery was less than expected and most unlike the regular Amazon deliveries to the estate . . . In fact, the person who delivered the package reported that it was left by the front door/porch . . . This was not the case . . . The package was left outside the communal entrance to the apartments where I live . . . Anyone passing could have picked it up . . . All the deliveryman had to do was open the main doors, come inside and spend 30 seconds going up nd down the stairs to deliver the order to my front door . . . I found it much later when I went outside and was surprised to find it dumped for all to see or take . . .

most of it was a solid lump,I had to grind it up and mix it with white spirit, if i wasnt in a hurry I would have returned it.

follow the instructions
The trick with this product is to dilute the paste to a thin 'slip' with white spirit. In other words do not even think of applying the thick paste from the tin - you will simply mess up your expensive lumber. I apply the slip with a dough knife (as in cooking) this allows a smooth application with no mess. But, the slip will go into just about anything (it's very runny) so just to be safe, put something below the job, I used this on a piece of Sapele to fill up the small 'rising grain' holes that would have caused a problem when finishing. Apply it, let it dry (follow instructions) and then sand off, it disappears but the particles are embedded in any rising grain. NOTE: this is not a wood filler, buy wood filler for knot filling etc.

Go With The Grain
I love a bit of oak and it’s the perfect wood for my hobby of building plinths for scale models. Sometimes it can be a bit grainy especially at the end grain as the router finishes and even when sanded it can still look a little unruly. Amazon suggested this product, as they do, and upon seeing that guitar constructors often use it, I thought , why not give it a go.It’s easy enough to use but please make sure you have brought things as far on as you can with the router and sanded it using finer grades until it’s come as far as you can and then apply this. It dries in no time at all but I usually leave it overnight. It tends to darken the wood at first but as it dries it is indistinguishable from untreated areas. I tend to use it on the end grain but if the wood itself is a little grainy then it’s fine for use here too.All in all, it just moves my work on another step before final finishing with lacquer or oil and it looks fabulous. I must confess to doing a quick rub with a very very fine sandpaper but the instructions advise use it after all sanding. In any event you are left with a super quality finish. Okay
It does the job, but you have to be thorough in your application and coverage isn’t great.

Appears to do the job
This product appears to do the job.For many years I used a neutral coloured grain filler, (originally from Gedge and Co., London) but a few years ago I had to switch to a German brand (white). Both these required the addition of rare earth powder pigments to colour, and the later used up an eye watering amount to achieve the required shades for the various jobs.I have only used this product once so far, for a Georgian Mahogany side table, and the colour from the tin was a reasonable match. It mixed well with white spirit and was easy to use, and I am sure having used it ,that I will be able to tint any future mixes with rare earth powders for colour matching. To this end I also bought a tin of Oak Grainfiller as well.I suspect, looking forward, I may become irritated by the small size of these tins, my old fillers came in 500g tins, more useful professionally, but that may just be a matter of more research.NB The information on the tin suggests tinting the filler with woodstains; I don't do this as pigment powders colour the grainfiller, without the danger of staining the wood you are filling.

Prezzo esagerato rispetto alla quantità.

Prezzo altissimo
