How To Watch Football

I found this book a bit disappointing. It drifts from tactical explanations to autobiography and back. Many of the points made about the game in different countries and leagues serve dated stereotypes. I read quite a bit about leadership, and football (tactics, biographies and culture) and in the end this book wasn't interesting enough to keep me turning the pages.

Great book if you want to understand what's going on inside a game rather than just what your average fan would see.

It felt like having a beer with Ruud! The Audio Book is narrated well. The negative reviews are ridiculous! What wisdom did you expect to hear that will change you forever? If you want Ruud Guillet's opinions and insight about tactics, A few stories, and thoughts etc, then you will love it.

A good insight into recognising how teams play and how to interpret a game but more of the book is about Ruud's career and players he played with.Not in itself a problem but the content isn't quite what you expect.

A laborious read. Tells you very little new and for you'd think was well versed in football, he adds little insight. Nothing bad as such but time and effort better spent elsewhere on this subject.

This book is a decent read. Ruud was a world class player and this book is based on his playing days and coaching days which is fine, but for me personally I would have preferred more insight in regards to how to analyse a match in real time.

Found this book to be stuck between 2 stools, simple set of anecdotes about his past & trying to convey insider knowledge of what it's like to be a top top player in the game. The examples used to illustrate certain points were quite odd & I would say suffered from confirmation bias. Overall I wouldn't dissuade someone from reading this book but I wouldn't rave about it
