Don’t judge me but we had a very serious fruit fly problem. See, we’re excellent about composting but not that excellent about keeping our kitchen compost covered or taking it outside as often as we should. It’s been raining like crazy and we’re busy and also kinda lazy!!! Anyway, the fruit flies were out of control. I went on Amazon and got this liquid (I already had the apples thingies) and also some fly strips. I’ve had success with fly strips in the past. I put a strip hanging over my kitchen sink and I put these traps over by the compost. I followed the directions and added a little bit of water to this liquid, so this is really only maybe a quarter of one of the little tubes in the package! Well. Look. This is about 48 hours later. Both of the apples are like this. It’s still catching flies, there are a lot of them, but honestly they were cut down SIGNIFICANTLY within a few hours. I’ve caught like 3 on the fly strip over the sink as well. But this stuff, WOW. I think I might actually subscribe and save and just always have these things out in the compost area.

During the summer I get lots of fruit flies due to our considerable harvests from our garden. This works well in the the traps to help get rid of them.

For unknown reasons, these pesky fruit fly gnats seem to sometimes appear out of the blue. I think they may hitchhike on some store bought fruits.Once they appear, they are annoying, stubborn, and won't go away.The solution goes into a very nice bait,trap,(purchased separately), The fluid seems to work for about one month but it definitely does attract these little annoyances.I placed one by a kitchen sink in the evening before going to bed and had several captured and dead the next morning.The bait traps look good. Better looking than a dish of soap or vinegar on the counter.I took off one star as this appears to be overpriced.

This works. If you have fruit flies 🪰 from fruit or house plants, sometimes it is just a mystery and you can’t get rid of them, use this product. You will need the little red plastic tomatoes. They are sold separately. Use this refill. It works better than anything else.

I filled several fruit fly traps but it did not attract the fruit flies and/or didn't kill them. It was so sad how badly it performed. I was making a dressing for a salad that had vinegar and a little honey and the fruit flies were all buzzing around like crazy. I reached over to the trap filled with this liquid, opened it up, no fruit flies after two weeks. Emptied it out, rinsed and dried, and added some of my salad dressing. In an hour Ibout 45 minutes had caught and killed what looked like nine or 10 fruit flies. This stuff was pitiful. Don't waste your money.
