So I knew this would be a thicker bag as it states it is waterproof. This is a thick and heavier bag and feels VERY well made. I cannot wait to test this out on my November trip to Florida from the Midwest.

Road trips are fun, but it can get crowded when you put all the people and all their luggage inside the same car. You need more storage space, and this product gives you that. The storage bag is waterproof so your luggage will remain dry as you drive through rain, it is durable, so it won't rip apart in the wind, and it looks nice too. It gives you 16 cubic feet of extra storage on your roof, and that is enough to hold quite a few pieces of luggage. 5 stars.

I am not a huge fan of the roof mounted bags...never have been and likely never will be however there are times when you just dont have a choice. If you have a vehicle without a roof rack and dont want to spend a fortune on a high end roof mounted carrier this is a fantastic option. It's a really good sized bag with plenty of storage, solid heavy material - thick not junk - and has decent zippers. For the price you cant beat having one of these if you have a car or a small SUV and dont want to spend the money on a hitch or roof rack system and know you are going to pack more than you can handle inside the car. For the price of one of these...you cant even check a bag with an airline anymore. It's a good deal and holds quite a bit. Also did a nice job of repelling water - we hose tested it. As with any roof mounted system you are going to take a few MPG hit on gas mileage but...if you dont have another option, again, this is a good one.

We needed some extra space in our van, even with the tons of space it provides it isn't enough for 6 people and 2 dogs for a long road trip. This was the perfect economical solution. It easily fits on top of the van with the protective mat to protect the paint. It strapped easily to the existed roof bars on our toyota sienna. I was able to fit 4 carry-on sized suitcases, a 10 ft inflatable projector screen, and a playpen in it easily. The trip we took was long with wind gusts and mountainous roads. The bag shifted a few times and the straps loosened. I found that if I ditched the directions and tightened the straps, knotted them just under the buckle and then wrapped the velcro around the two straps closest to each other it secured the load well enough and there were no further issues. All in all it's a solid bag at a good price.

It is not! You will need to fill it to capacity to keep the shape, which is exactly what you want when driving at highway speeds.- Black color gets HOT in the sun while stationary.

This is a really nice bag. Its easy to use and set up. Also easy to take down. Kept everything dry on a road trip from CA to WA and we even went through a pretty crazy storm. Nicely made. Was easy to take to car wash and scrub off the bugs after the trip.
