This is exactly as described and does a great job for it's intended use as a hood. I got it for sun protection for my face when I am wearing T-shirts or light long sleeve shirts. I have no complaints at all as it does this job perfectly. I have not used the cooling feature yet but I will update this review if I do.

Innovative, worth a try

Very comfortable &cool

Living in a hot climate area, my wife has had heat stroke one too many times (one is too many, but she’s had several more). So I got this for her because sometimes life happens on a hot day.These are surprisingly effective at keeping the body temperature down. I would say that there are really two levels of cooling with this.First, you could simply use this to wipe off excess sweat. This cools you off of course but that sweat can also get retained in the towel to perform its evaporative cooling effect. Gross, but hey. The second and better way is to totally wet this towel, wring it out, shake it to get the excess off, and then wear it on your neck, forehead, or wherever you need to. (Though the neck and head is the most effective.)The hoodie design is cool. I mean it’s not exactly the fashion statement I’d like to be known for, but when it’s time to use it and everyone else is melting, you’ll be looking good. Plus, with my other towels, they’re made to be draped around the neck… or you could drape it on your head. But what’s worse, walking around with something that looks like it was made for your head on your head or walking around with a towel on your head? Wearing it on the head gives you more cool coverage. It’s a great idea and I’m glad I got this.I plan to keep this in my wife’s bug out bag… She already has a couple cooling towels… but if we are at the point where we are actually using bug out bags… well, this redundancy is an absolutely necessary one.Where I live, staying cool can be a matter of life or death, especially to those sensitive to the heat. Don’t underestimate the value of these towels. You’ll appreciate it when you finally need it.

I have long hair, and am particularly sensitive to the feeling of it getting sweaty and sticking to the back of my neck when I exercise. Putting it up with hair ties helps, but it can still move around and stick to my neck in unpleasant ways, or even irritate my neck. I've always used towels and such to help deal with this, but this hood is a much more elegant solution. It's thin, lightweight, comfortable, and the added bonus of evaporative cooling if you soak it before going out is a nice bonus as well. It helps keep sun and my own hair off my neck, while staying nicely in place.
