ROBUSTUS by Teknub – wireless Bluetooth home and office speaker system sound delivered from a powerful 40W output – 2.1 channels 5-speaker setup

This is the second Bluetooth speaker I have bought and it seems unable to connect/pair with my Surface pro 3. I have reviewed all of the BT drivers using Driver Support but the problem persists. Other devices can be paired/unpaired easily (eg a mini keyboard and headphones) Well delving further in Google I found The answer which had eluded even Microsoft Support. The Bluetooth Support service was switched off. The chain of commands was: Windows key + R > services,msc > enter > Bluetooth Support Service > Properties > select Automatic > Start The device is great. Clear sound with good bass - there is an equaliser to change treble, bass and sub-woofer and six presets adjustable by the remote control. More later.....

Sounded ok at first but developed an annoying rattle from somewhere inside after about an hour so had to send it back. Ordered a Rollei Superbox instead, absolutely awesome speaker!!

Good 'meaty' sound and love the choice of media - usb, sd, BT, aux. Don't need to carry from one room to another, just bang up the volume -:)

In short this is a great little unit to have in a room Pros: 1) Bluetooth. I was using iPhone4s/Windows laptop and had fun changing tracks and volume from different rooms. Nice to have at a full table so everyone can select their own tracks from their own devices. Initial BT setup was fast and easy, can use to transmit audio from phone calls etc. I also used the AUX and USB options with no problems, didn't try micro SD 2) Sound quality - It's only one speaker but it's good for filling a room. I compared the Robustus to a couple of other units (Gear4 Orb) and the Robustus definitely sounds better with my playlist of Lemon Jelly, rock and metal. If you need big volume or very soft volume, the Robustus is good for both. Your neighbours might thank you for refraining from max volume on this unit tho - max is LOUD (40W) - certainly much louder than other units I have. The options to manually adjust the bass, treble and sub and the pre-set EQ options are welcome. 3) General design and features - It's unlikely the name is coincidence as while compact, the Robustus looks and feels, well, Robust. It's relatively heavy and mass always helps dampen unwanted vibrations. Easy handle for lifting and gripped feet to stop your full table from knocking it over. Nice to have a remote that's clear and easy to use. Might be better if remote was AAA batteries. Unit has external display for adjusting volume, EQ etc which stays lit so you can tell when unit is on or off. 4) Fast delivery, good packaging (not a lot of waste from Amazon) Cons: 1) Only con is the unit is not rechargeable so it needs to be plugged in Overall I'm very happy with this unit and will continue using it with laptop and phone
