Great if one configures no automouting of internal KVM drive
CONS:1) With macOS, when two devices are USB-C connected to the KVM, the KVM automatically mounts an internal drive to install a utility. However, if you switch between devices via the KVM, you will get notify spammed about how a drive was not ejected properly. As a workaround, I stopped automounting of the internal drive by editing /etc/fstab entries via terminal:sudo vifsone would add the following entries:LABEL=MacKMLink none cd9660 ro,noautoUUID=XXX none msdos ro,noautoReplace XXX above with the full UUID of the KVM found from:diskutil info Untitled2) For Windows 11, it kept mounting/unmounting the KVM drive when using Steam once every few seconds, interferring with gaming and overall usage of Windows. Hence, I would also need to configure no automounting in Windows (yet to do).3) One has to press the KVM button twice to fully switch from one host to the other. While I found this annoying, this alone is not enough to push me to return the device. Otherwise, it only switches one of the monitors.4) I prefer where there is no internal drive for a utility. If I wanted to install it, I could optionally download it from VisionTek's website, and/or separate USB flash drive provided in box.PROS:1) VisionTek quickly approved my warranty registration with a submitted Amazon invoice. I read other comments about how they had trouble getting this approval. Not sure why as the approval turnaround was a couple business days. Same quick approval with another item I've purchased from VisionTek.2) I like VisionTek, have purchased a graphics card from them, and received outstanding support from them in the past.3) I like how both devices can be powered via the USB-C cable, regardless of which one is primary, KVM supports 4K, and supports 3 external monitors. These were the deciding factors I choose this KVM over all other USB-C KVMs being sold, or buying a standard one device USB-C docking station.

Tries to do too much and fails at its basic job
This "kvm" tries to do too much and simply fails. It mounts a virtual drive that is supposed to contain installation software every time you switch computers. The problem with this is that not only does it not contain the windows software, just a link to an android sideload apk (which is a broken link), bitlocker also asks me every time if this virtual drive should be encrypted.Numerous other issues plague this device. If you try to switch inputs using the button on the device, sometimes it takes 2, 3, or 4 button presses to switch, you just have to guess. The software that they want you to install (which also isn't available on the website) supposedly allows sharing files and other things between hosts. This is not the job of a kvm and if that's the problem I was trying to solve, numerous other IP based solutions would work better. Samung dex won't work with the displayport output but only hdmi which creates a lower resolution for my laptop. My logitech unified receiver which allows mouse and keyboard won't work when switching hosts about half the time. All told, this is not a kvm, but a slow computer that overcomplicates and won't work unless you have two personally owned laptops with no security and can materialize the km link software out of thin air. For the price of this thing, it should be significantly more polished.

It's good, but lacks what all KVM docks like this lack: EDID emulation mode
I posted a question earlier about EDID emulation mode to retain window positions on the disconnected laptop. The manufacturer posted that it has it, but it does NOT. I bought the unit based on this answer. But after installing it, I found that when switching back and forth between two laptops connected to this unit, if I had applications spread out between my two monitors, when I switch away and then switch back, all the applications go back to Monitor 1, and then I have to move them back to the positions where I need them. This is a deal-breaker, because I'm studying cybersecurity and I need to have multiple applications open at once and need them on different screens. I can't be repositioning them every single time I switch back and forth.I ended up having to stick with a competing unit, the StarTech 129N, because even though it also lacks EDID emulation, they at least designed a software that helps retain a memory of the application positions when you switch back (which works for the most part).

Step up from the VisionTek 4900 dock! Even more performance.
I've had a few VisionTek Docks since I have worked from home for the last 18 years. The last being the VT4900 (5 years ago) which seems to be the predecessor to this Dual System KVM dock. I haven't seen many competitors making docks like this so I went back to Visiontek. Just so everyone understands, this dock works with two systems, usually laptops from what I've seen, and it provides 100watts of power to each system. So you get a super clean set up and functionality. Its just a button/hotkey to swap between systems and I can do personal stuff on my laptop (Dell) and work on my employer given laptop (Lenovo, so no issue with diff brands) simultaneously. Pay bills, look at YouTube then back to work with a click of a key! It's a single USB C connection and I have 3 x 32" LG's connected to it, achieving the highest 4k resolution. Super easy to set up, didn't even need to download drivers this go round. My high schooler even connects and does some of his art and designed stuff with the set up so he can drag and drop across the 3 screen... he loves it. So I'd say that it can be slightly higher priced but for what you get, but its worth it. Definitely maximizes performance as VisionTek claims. Thumbs up!
