Had to write a QUICK FIRE review - WOW
Won't be an in depth review. Quickly bought it yesterday, came this afternoon no problems. The book size is excellent, i got it mainly for the sketching ideas on my IPad, but it has a TON of useful details in this and it has nice glossy pages and i have to say, its been put together excellently.I'm a UK structural Engineer by profession, and this definitely (even though its mostly imperial and the historic building info is american focus), it will have a place next to my Pocket book for structural engineering. The UK needs a more UK focused book like this and it will sell a huge amount of books. Every discipline would benefit from having a UK / Eurocode leaning book. That's two amazing books i have - both written by women. I see a trend :p

Handy reference book. A touch expensive, so buy when reduced.
This is a very handy and useful reference book. It touches on all topics of architecture that you can think of, without going into great detail. Handy because more often than not all you need is a nudge or a bit about the basics of something. Good size. Good paper. Good print. Good drawings. It’s only downside is quite a high price, so hold off for a reduction if possible.

Excellent Book
This is an excellent book with loads of really useful reference sections, a mixture of basic to advanced information, and beautiful illustrations and even colour pages for wood samples.

Highly recommend
Highly recommend this book to anyone studying architecture especially in the UK as the information in the book is very important. A useful book to use whenever you need to remind yourself about certain information that you might need.

Great if you like Feet and Inches
This is a well designed book and gives a brief overview of many topics but non are really covered in-depth. It's a skim through lots of areas, a bit of a pick and mix approach. The most irritating factor for anyone outside of America, which I do believe is quite a lot of people, is this book is in Imperial measurements, Feet and Inches. Sure they have the conversion in brackets, but that ends up being an odd figure. So for a 25 inch worktop this is directly / lazily converted to 635 mm which you don't get in Europe, they are 600 mm.

Not So Good for the UK, some Information Very Basic
Uses USA measurements and terminology. Has sections on basic information on materials, how to hand-draw architectural drawings, key points in architectural history, lots of measurements (that you can get in the Metric Handbook), some basic construction information, some basic structural information. Although some information could be useful, it is more so for architects based in the USA, and less for those in the UK. Some information is surprisingly basic, like what a floor plan, elevation and a section is. Building Codes referred to are American ones also.
