I'm a woman/have a female body, I dress androgynously, and these fit me great. I'm 5'8, 145lb, athletic build, and I wear a medium in most women's clothes and an 8, on average, in pants. Size medium in these trunks fit me perfectly. They are not restricting at all but still fit pretty close to my body so that there's no bunching fabric at the hips to over-emphasize them. The waist isn't too tight and doesn't dig into me. The fabric is stretchy and soft, especially the liner inside. Overall, these are make me feel comfortable, physically and gender presentation-wise.

These are high quality shorts and feel great to wear. The color looks exactly what the picture shows. I bought another pair.
