I bought these paints having not long since got back into watercolour painting. The original paints I tried to start with were far too cheap and were chalky, wouldn't mix on the paper and cracked into dust when they dried. So coming from that background, I wanted a better quality set and found this set with excellent reviews and competitively priced.What can I say? They are delightful to use, creamy and silky on the brush, melt together beautifully on the paper and dry perfectly. The colours are very rich and deeply pigmented so you only use a little. While I'm no expert, I can say I'm thoroughly enjoying using them and would highly recommend them.

A lovely watercolour set. The pans are small, but you get a lot of them in a wide range of colours.The tin is sturdy and big enough to fit extra pens and brushes for painting on location.I'm very happy with this set recommended to me by other artists.

I'll start off by saying, I'm not a beginner watercolourist, I've been painting with this medium for years, but as a hobby, i enjoy adult colouring books, some take watercolour really well, Hannah Karlzon books in particular. When I'm messing around for my own enjoyment, I didn't want to use my professional grade watercolours, so i took a chance and bought these, not knowing anything about them, and i have to say how utterly impressed i am with them. The choice of colours is varied and good, the paints themselves are bright and vibrant and don't lose that vibrancy upon drying. I can't believe how highly pigmented they are, and they don't dry chalky either. just a sweep with your brush over your chosen colour and your brush is loaded with paint, no scrubbing for ages to pick up the colour. I actually have a few Winsor and Newton half pans that lack the intensity of colour that these paints have, and they're professional artist grade at £5 per half pan. Admittedly, I've only used these in colouring books when I'm relaxing, but I'll be testing them out to do a larger scenic piece. I don't know how lightfast they are, there's not a lot of info included. This set came with a pre written swatch card, which i found handy. The box lists all the colours, but it's wrong. The swatch card inside is thankfully correct though. The tin is as well made as a more expensive brand, and i like the simplicity of it. It's also a nice blue colour which is more cheerful than the usual black. In conclusion, I'd heartily recommend these paints, they're a joy to use.

Good colours, easy to activate, good results so far

If you are on the fence about getting these paints, then jump right off and buy them now! You seriously will not get a better set of this amount of colours, for anywhere near this price. They melt easily into water, are very highly pigmented, a little really does go a long way. They are beautifully bright and dry without any chalky residue.The one thing that there is to “grumble” about, is that they are set into a moulded plastic tray, rather than individual pans, but that really is a minor gripe. The metal pan that they come in is great though, nice mixing wells in the lid and plenty sturdy enough! Overall, they are an absolute steal.

What a lovely set of paints, they perform beautifully, and having arabic gum in the they leave a lovely slight "glaze" on the dried finish, in no way are these the slightest bit chalky, or grainy, the finish is beautiful and smooth. they lay down well, from a light translucent through to a rich pigment, depending on how thick you chose to apply the paint. These are amazing value for the quality of paints. So is there anything not good?,,,,well the biggest problem I can see with this set of paints is that the half pans themselves are stuck into a pre moulded tray, so no replacing any individual pan when its finished. On the up side, at least you know that you are using the genuine product, and I imagine that this method has saved on packaging costs and allowed for a better quality of paint, which in my opinion, is exactly what you are getting with this set. I have actually ordered a second box as they are on a terrific price deal at the moment, reduced to £15.99, more than worth it. My recommendation is to BUY THIS SET, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I'm very glad I did.

Really impressed with this set great value for money and the colours are lovely

Arrived on time, beautifully packed, and easy to open. The colours are gorgeous and plenty to pick from. I’ve had these before 24 colours, they are lovey to use, blend and granulate lovely. The colours are well pigmented so you don’t need too much paint. Good wet on wet and wet on dry I will definitely get them again
