Chromatic Harmonica Songbook: Christmas Carols (Songbooks for chromatic harmonica)

Good book. Great for a new harmonica player!

This is not a beginner book. There are very few easy songs in the book. In addition, unless you have the exact type of 12 hole chromonica the book is written for you are going to have to transpose the tabs. There are tab charts for other types, but the tab chart for my 10 hole chromonica is completely wrong. Since this is my first chromonica, I do not know if my model has a unique setup (I have a SWAN 1040) or if the tab charts in the book are completely incorrect. I kept it because I need practice using the sharp (flat) key and this book does have a nice selection of songs you can learn as you improve your techniques. I play dulcimer, organ, lap harp, and clarinet so I have no trouble reading music, but if you cannot read music - this book could be a problem for you. I get most of the harmonica tabs I use from harptabs.com who have many free harmonica tabs for all types of harmonicas. Others I write out myself or even play directly from the musical score.

Christmas songs are can be easy to play and still sound great. This book has a large variety of Christmas songs. It will be useful when my church has its annual Christmas program. I was able to play some of the songs on my first try while others require some practice. (I consider my playing skills to be at the low-intermediate level.)

I need to practice more in order to be able to play them. The book is very good for those interested in playing as a beginner a few songs are easy. But with a title effort of practice it can be accomplished easily.
