Got a new desk top, bare bones...... everything you get comes with a CD or DVD so I bought this one. As soon as I hooked it up to computer it recognized it and worked great!! I reached out to company as a slip in box said and then extended my warranty for another year. How great is that?

It would not open to let me get my disk. Had to use a paperclip to open it

It says“ There is a 3.5mm audio out port, we can plug the headphone/earphone/headset directly into the audio jack of this DVD drive USB to enjoy cool music/movies/games with your families/friends and enjoy the HI-FI audio stereo happiness or not disturb others while playing this CD drive external USB.”It ain’t the legacy audio out as old cd players had, the device contains usb sound card so in windows you have to switch audio out device if you want sound coming out the output, note that will be all sounds in windows or what ever os you are running ( if drivers exist ).

UPDATED 4/27/2024: MUST READ!If you make the mistake and buy one of these drives you MUST know your buying a USED drive. The drive inside was manufactured back in 2011. Yes, that is 13 YEARS ago. You are not getting a brand new drive so buyer beware to avoid this drive at all costs. The drive inside mine smells like cigarette smoke. It has visible markings from the laptop it was once installed in. The back of the unit says USB C SUPERDRIVE. Well I guess it is super, super old and worn and loose. Inside the drive upon opening is filled with HAIR and DUST. This seller is a thief and I am telling you AVOID THIS DRIVE AT ALL COSTS! The plastic case might be new but internals are NOT. They are 13 YEARS OLD and someone else's junk. Do not make the same mistake as me, buy anything but this brand. If they are doing this with this model they are doing it with all others. BUYER BEWARE!!!!So far I have made about a dozen DVDs since receiving my drive yesterday and I have to say it's very quiet and works well up to a full 8x burn speed. The quality of it appears very good as well and I am impressed. The little light bar thing on the back end of it is a little tacky it's just an RGB LED that changes color and the colors mean nothing it's just for decoration. I do wish that it would blink when the driver is in use because it would be a useful feature if it did but the drive tray near the button has an indicator as well. A very nice drive at a great price and it even has a extra USB plug. Just note that from my experience you have to make sure that even though it powers on when you plug it into the USB you need to use the power cable otherwise it won't have enough power to spin the disc up.
