Excellent tuners.
These Grover Sta Tite 18-1 ratio acoustic guitar tuners were exactly what I was looking for and they work great. I replaced the stock tuners on an Alvarez MD60-BG. The tuners look nearly identical but once you get one of each in your hand you can tell the difference. They are heavier and better metal. The stock bushings had to come out as the Grover would not fit through them. I had to tap them out with a screwdriver as they were set in really tight. The stock bushings were very thin and cheap compared to the Grover bushings. I had to ream out the bushing hole a bit since the Grover bushings was just a tad larger. Took about 10 minutes to do all 6 holes. Then they tapped in easily and then I put the tuners in and tightened down the screws and voila! Done. I love that you can fine tune with the 18-1 ratio. When you are out of tune just a fraction of a fraction you just need to turn the string a hair to get right in tune and these tuners do the job marvelously. They also sta in tune very well. I have always been happy with Grover tuners and have them on 3 guitars (Rotomatic reg and mini). You could pay more and not necessarily get better. But why? These are just great. One hint. The sta tite for electric guitar looks almost identical except for the post is straight with no indentation at top. I got the wrong ones and had to return them and re order the right ones. For acoustic be sure to get the Grover Sta Tite VERTICAL V97, not horizontal.

They work well
I've had these in two other acoustics for 4 and 5 years and no problems at all. I installed a set of Schaller GrandTuners that had 1 break after 2 years. So instead of spending more than twice the amount of these on a replacement, I got these for the third acoustic as well. They've got a high gear ratio so they tune easily and stay in tune. For me these have been very reliable.

Great value
Great tuners, while they're as simple as they come, they stay in tune incredibly well and are truly made to last. Some of the best tuners I've ever used.

Poor design fails quickly
I've owned a set for these for about 3 years and they failed. I noticed they started feeling stiff and one tuner was grinding. I took the worse tuner off and discovered the little plastic thrust washer under the worm screw completely flaired out. Taking a look at the other 5 tuners I could see they were all at different stages of failing. I tried to leave a review at StewMac website but they auto-block 1-star reviews so I'm leaving one here.Grover did offer to replace the set but I refused. I have to use for unreliable tuners. Even if you only play coffee shops of in a garage band having your tuners fail like this is a big deal when you unexpectedly find you can't tune your guitar
