Principle Highway Engineer 5e 5th Edition

Note: The problems and equations in this book are in metric. This version also does not have all of the problems that the normal edition has.

This product is everything it is advertised. I have an advantage as my instructor is Dr. Washburn, one of the authors. The text is simple to read with plenty of illustrations to explain the concepts. The example problems are quite helpful and can be used as a guide to begin solving the End-of-Chapter problems. One thing that would make the text more useful would be solutions to the odd (or even) problems. Dr. Washburn provides these to the class which helps to assure you are on the right track.One side note related to this book, don't buy it through Amazon.com. The seller canceled my order, after posting that the book had been shipped. After three weeks of waiting, I discovered this fact from a refund to my credit card as the seller failed to tell me. Poor, poor customer service!

As far as reading goes it's pretty boring, even though the subject is interesting.It's heavy on equations that eventually get summed up into one general equation.The examples are better than anything from Hibbeler.

I enjoy using this book on the computer. Nice search tool to find topics. Very convenient to use for class.

as a college student I have ot buy books, I dont really get a choice. but this is really a great book. and has to be one of the better text books I have ever used.

I feel very bad leaving a negative review, because this text is great, and is very comprehensive in its review of major transportation engineering topics. This book was recommended as a key tool to use in preparation for the Transportation Depth PE Exam. The content in the chapters is very thorough, and utilizes the latest editions of the Green Book.However, my major problem with the text is a lack of solutions for the end of chapter problems. There are no solutions provided for any of the problems, the correct answers are not even provided. It is very frustrating to spend a great deal of money on a text book to not have any solutions for the practice problems. Perhaps in future editions provide at least even number solutions, or just an answer key?

Excellent textbook for traffic engineering. Many examples reinforce the material in each chapter. Formulas are clearly stated and variables are clearly defined.

This book is very helpful and lays out easy and clear examples to follow.I enjoyed this book, and will probably use it a lot later in life

Needs solutions for problems at the end of the book.
