Oneida Flatware Flight, Iced Tea Spoons, Set of 4

I really like the design on these spoons and have used Oneida's Flight design for 30+ years. The spoons have a nice, smooth edge that doesn't catch on my lips and it's so nice to have long handled spoons for all sorts of jobs in the kitchen. Of course, I also use them to stir sweetener into my tea.

This is a nice piece of Oneida flatware - on par with any other Oneida. For only a couple dollars more than the cheap, stamped pot metal spoons, this is a great value.

The spoons feel good in your hand. They are nice quality spoons.

These ice tea spoons are a little shorter than I think they should be and they are not as substantial as I think they should be...the spoon part is very small not even a teaspoon ....they are not flimsy but they do not have a good quality feel to them either......I am disappointed with all silverware lately....hope I can find some that have higher quality.....

Finally had to give up my favorite long teaspoon due to failing plating. I don't know where it came from or who left it at my house years ago, but it somehow became the only teaspoon I liked to use. Fearing heavy metal shrapnel might come loose in my beverages with continued use of my old spoon, I set out to find a new long teaspoon with similar simplistic design as my old one, and I found these. Only after I purchased these spoons did I learn Oneida is apparently pretty well-known for quality flatware - so that was a bonus for me. These spoons are just a biscuit over 7 1/4" long, coming in right at about 7 5/16" as I measure them. At very first handling, I wasn't certain these were going to be heavy enough to convince me of their sturdiness and be able to take over as my new favorite spoon. That faded pretty fast as I began to use the spoon(s) a few times, and by now I've come to think if I were able to to design and build my own ideal long teaspoon, this very well might be it. The weight feels just about right in the hand, it's light enough, and as you start using it you realize you aren't feeling any flex out of the spoon when plunging it down for the deep stir. The spoon is light yet solid, and with simple straight-forward design - I like it. I guess it has officially dethroned my old favorite.Side note: As I was comparing my old favorite spoon to this new one, I broke out the magnifying glass to get a closer look at my old spoon - on the back through the patina, the micro-print underneath revealed a word I never noticed before (because I never bothered to look) - it said.....'Oneida.'And just like that, all is right with the world.

I use these spoons every day. They are high quality, and the soft design feels good in your hand, unlike others with harsh edges.

Flight is a common pattern from Oneida. It is in their middle to less expensive line and is a simple pattern that goes with most things. I like the handle for the knives as they don't cut into my hand. So when My son wanted to have some real flatware for his new home, he chose the same pattern as we have. The Ice Tea or Beverage spoons are perfect for tall drinks and match the original pattern. We got a set of the Beverage spoons for us as well as the next generation out on their own. Very reasonable.
