Automatic Greenhouse Side Louvre Opener

As the title.Well built, simpler to fit than I expected and works well.Only thing I changed was the plastic 'pin' which connects the vent arm to the push rod - I was finding when it was 25 degrees + the plastic pin was bending and the securing cap came off which the stopped the louvres closing.Replacing the pin with a thin bolt and nut kept operation the same and overcame this problem

Fitted this automatic louvre opener, to my Halls greenhouse louvre windows, some weeks ago and it is working well. The biggest problem was removing the old seized screws that held the original manual leaver to the actuator mechanism. I had to drill them out. Once done the fitting was easy enough and so was adjustment.I would buy this product again and from the supplier.

I recently fitted a top window vent from this manufacturer. It did need some DIY skills to fit it to my Robinson green house. You may find my review of that as well. However I am pleased with it and so I thought I would fit an automatic opener to the louvre window as well and this is the review for that.The unit appears to be well made and indeed looks good. The first thing that I noticed was that this unit is handed. It only has mounting holes on the left hand side. When I looked the opening lever on my Robinson was of course on the right hand side! This made it almost impossible to fit to the existing operating arm. So the operating lever for the window had to be moved to the left hand side if this was going to be fitted. That was not too difficult but a new hole had to be drilled into the glass carriage frame of the window. Then it required a new bolt and associated nuts and washers. That was okay and all that remained was to fit the unit itself to the left hand side. Because of the position that the unit needed to be fitted I found that the aluminium flange on the frame was too thin at that point to take the two screws supplied. Therefore I had to bolt the unit into position with two machine bolts. Pan headed 4 x 20mm or 3/16” x 3/4” in old money! Once bolted in it is probably a lot more stable and secure than it would have been with the two self tapping screws supplied.So all in all I am pleased with the opener and once fitted it was easy to adjust. I think that it will probably fit most greenhouses but you may need some DIY skills depending on your type of green house. That is certainly the case if fitting it to a Robinson.

Despite watching YouTube videos I was surprised how easily I was able to replace the failed louvre opener with this one. Normally there are variations from what you've seen and it takes ages to work it out. The tomatoes in the greenhouse are doing exceedingly well as a result!

Replaced broken unit on the greenhouse. Clear instructions; straightforward installation; works as expected.

Easy to fit. Only complaint is that the plastic "glass" is a bit too flimsy. I live in a very windy place so I think I might get some glass cut.Mechanism works very well. I did have to make a small adaptation for my polytunnel.

This is great value for money and fairly simple to install, saves having to rush to open windows/vents as once set these are very reliable.

Put this on the window this spring.It works great already.This should help with a summer cross breeze to cool off our greenhouse.

Does not attach very well, there are much better ones avaiable.
