Makes very clear ice.
I haven’t used this myself, I bought 3 for Christmas gifts. I’ve looked a long time for a little larger cubes than the standard 2”. One recipient did give my feed back. He was very impressed how clear the ice was. Much better than other brands that advertise as making clear ice. While he didn’t actually measure the ice, he said it was smaller than the 2.5” cube listed for this product.

Makes great clear ice balls
The Antarctic Star Clear 2.5 inch Ice Ball Maker Mold makes 2 Large Whiskey Ice Spheres and comes with Storage Bag. This ice ball maker is easy to use and makes great ice spheres in about twenty hours. I have found that using warm water to fill the tank and then placing the silicone mold inside when it is room temperature seems to work best. I let it stay in the freezer overnight and each morning I remove the spheres and store them in the bag until I have reached the desired quantity. That gives me a couple hours to allow the ice left in the tank to thaw a little before I remove it. I have found, I have to run some hot water in the tank to remove all of the ice left. Removing the mold from the tank takes a little finesse. Separating the mold and removing the spheres is rather easy. All in all, I have been very happy with the ice ball maker and I consistently have very nice clear ice for bourbon and scotch drinks when entertaining.

Complicated and takes a long time
This ice ball maker is quite complicated and comes with many different pieces. I don't think I left it in the ice maker long enough as my ice cube was still hollow on the inside (though it was clear). I think for making two ice cubes in over 12 hours, this may not be worth it, especially for the size of this device and for the cost. I don't know any alternatives to this type of device at this price point but I am personally just going to stick with regular ice for my drinks.

Will not make a 2.5 inch ice cube
Ordered this product hoping to get a 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inch cube, but this isn’t as advertised. It’s about 1.75 x 2.25 x 2.25 inches.

Makes better ice spheres than most - a little more challenging to use though
This is my second set of ice molds for making large ice spheres for my whisky glasses. I will say that the ice spheres made from these molds have a more polished look than my first set and I really enjoy them. I also like that they come with a storage bag that you can pre-make half-a-dozen or so and store them in. However, I not sure that the improvement in quality is worth the premium price for everyone. Additionally, they are not as straightforward to use as my first set. You need to fill a liner with water (not hard) and then place that liner in a Styrofoam outer liner (also not hard), but then you need to put the inserts inside the original liner with water (this is where it takes a little trial-and-error practice). If you place the inserts in too fast the water will overflow and spill all over the place, and then there will not be enough in the molds to make the spheres. But if you let them sink into the water slowly they will fill up properly and make a near-perfect sphere. Overall - I have liked these and would order them again.

Fun for parties or just when you want to feel extra fancy by yourself
This is fun product for making ice cubes. there is not really a lot to go wrong or right here so this is going to be a short review. If you are in the market for something to make novelty ice cubes for your drinks this one has you covered.

Not easy after first batch.
This is nice, yes, expensive for the amount of work involved after the first batch. It's easy to fill the first time but you get a lot of ice in the bottom which makes the molds float a little so you have to get the ice out of the bottom, hot water will take care of that. For me it's a lot of wok for two ice balls. Plus an ice ball in my glass does not get my drink as cold as a glass of smaller cubes, that's just my personal taste.

Be a showoff!
This mold actually does makes clear ice balls correctly. Pretty easy to make. You fill to the level then slowly lower the mold in so it fills. Since the bottom is insulated, it freeze slower than the top. The water impurities are heavier so sink to the bottom which leaves the top, that freezes first, pure . The seam isnt too big and can be easily carved with the side of a knife if you want perfect smooth spheres. Dont forget to let the ball rest for a few minutes beore pouring the drink in so it adapts to the temperature change and not crack. Nothing better to impress than an ice ball perfectly clear without impurities.
