KEENMen’s Newport H2 Closed Toe Water Sandals

I purchased the KEEN Men's Newport H2 Closed Toe Water Sandals specifically for a trip to the Philippines, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This is my second pair of KEENs. I purchased my first pair while on a family vacation at least 10 years ago - when we were going on a river drift and I wanted something I could hit rocks with that wouldn't get waterlogged and wouldn't hurt my feet. I wore that pair extensively for those 10 years - on trips to all corners of the world, on boats and to the beach. They were great.So when it was time to replace them, it was a no-brainer to get another pair of KEENs. I did order a pair of Tevas at the same time and ended up returning those (I had intended to keep both the Teva's and the KEEN's, but after a short while it became clear to me that I only needed flip-flops and KEENs, the Tevas were redundant and didn't suit my needs as well as the KEENs did).During the summer, if I'm not at work, I'm usually in my KEENs. These are a great all-around summer shoe. The rubber enclosure up front protects your toes, they are comfortable, keep your feet cool, and are durable.The only downsides:* They tend to be just a wee bit small. I considered going up a half-size this time, but decided to stay with my standard size because it is more comfortable once it is on. Because of this, they're a little more difficult to slip on that I'd like (even if I loosen the draw string). This size problem was ultimately the downfall of my last pair - when I impatiently pulled them on and applied too much force, one of the back straps tore - and they never fit the same again. It appears that this has now been reinforced, but I suggest gentleness when pulling them on.* Because they have openings, it is easy to get dirt or rocks into them when hiking or in the water. And because they have a closed toe, it can be difficult to get those out. But I'm not sure that there is any realistic way to avoid that.

We love Keen brand shoes. They are the best. Very sturdy and comfortable. We have hiked all over Asia in these and they are great. They are good for dry and wet conditions. We almost only wear Keens at this point.

I’ve worn Keens for the last ~15 years and have had many pairs of their hiking boots and sandals. I can’t believe how small they’re running now! I needed replacements for my 3-yr-old size 10 Women’s Whispers, and I couldn’t get the replacements in the same size on at all. I then even went a full size up and they still didn’t fit! I gave up on the Whispers, which I used to love, and tried these. I’m normally a women’s size 9.5 wide in shoes, and had to order these Keens in a MENS 10! And it’s not even about the width, my toes brush against the end of the shoe. I don’t know if Keen is just having problems with inconsistency or if they’re really just running SO much smaller now, but this is wild. I’m nowhere near a Men’s 10 in any other shoe I have, but these fit really well. They’re very comfy, sturdy—they feel solid. I’m prone to dizziness and have issues with plantar fasciitis, so stable footwear is important for me. I’m glad I found these, but took a star off because of the very weird sizing.

I bought these water sandals for an upcoming trip to the Galapagos Islands so I haven't, as yet, had an opportunity to really try them out but so far, they visibly appear to be and feel very substantial and the fit is very comfortable. I was concerned because I generally get shoes in wide or extra wide because of my bunions and these sandals feel fine. They do not rub against the sides of my feet and there is definitely plenty of room for your toes to move in the toe box. I did get one size larger but, after having put them on, I am not really sure if that was necessary.

Great every-day shoes! These and their predecessors are my go-to, easy-on/easy-off footwear for casual work around the house and lawn (not mowing). For sureness of footing, they are similar to a low-cut tennis shoe but are not as supportive as a leather shoe from Keen. As an example: if working or standing on a sloped area of lawn, the wearer may notice that the ankle feels less certain since the soft sides provide only nominal support which decreases with the age of the shoe. These shoes are great for walks on smooth surfaces or trails, but should not be a first choice on rocky, uneven or rising/falling paths.

My old ones fell apart after many years of rough use. This sandal works as well wet as dry. Great for rough terrain with an adjustable fit. This sandal will last and is well made. Keen is a great brand overall

I ordered these for the summer. The quality is excellent. I had to return mine because the size was wrong but you can not beat how well these are made.
