Angel wings
The media could not be loaded. I made this angel in '92 with paper raffia. They disintegrated! I needed to replace them so I used this product and it worked well for me.

Real raffia.
This is an awesome value as you get so much raffia on the spool. It fans out well and looks pretty. The red color is versatile and it is sturdy when the pieces are kept together. It it easy to use and tie and make into bows. I've been a fan of raffia since the great raffia craze of 92 haha. It just looks so pretty and natural on gift wrap.

Very versatile.
I love using raffia. As a "twine" setup it has one look, but you can then also untwist the raffia and get nice crinkly sheets of paper for making crafts that in the old days were done with corn husks. I particularly like making Raffia Paper Angels as ornaments for my Holiday decor.

Decent red raffia at an OK price.
My wife and I love to give gifts for birthdays, milestones and sometimes when a friend needs a boost. We're explaining that in this review in the hope that it might encourage other Amazon shoppers to perhaps think of a gift to give. We know it really cheers folks and part of what draws a warm smile is a well-wrapped gift.Well, enough preaching about gift giving. This is standard raffia. Standard color. OK price. We're happy to give it 5 stars and have it in our wrapping cupboard.

This is good for my small business.
I use the black paper string to attach my keychains to an earring display card. It gives that homemade look and brings out the black color in my resin. The roll is so big, I doubt I’ll run out for a few years.

Tissue paper on a spool
I got this Raffia Ribbon to add some color to a hat I'm crocheting in paper raffia. When I received it I noticed that it had a sheen like tissue paper. Unfolding it, that's because it is tissue paper. I guess this will be good for wrapping gifts, but it's not going to work for crochet. Even folded the strips are almost twice as wide as my high-end paper raffia, and it has a different texture which means it will crochet differently than the original that I started with. I compared it with both the paper raffia I'm currently crocheting with and four spools that I bought from Turkey, and this is definitely not the same quality or thickness. It's not paper raffia. It's tissue paper.
