Decent thermal imaging camera for Android
I ordered this thermal imaging camera to check for places around my RV where heat is leaking out in the winter. When I identify a hotspot with the camera, I can use some additional bubble insulation in those areas or work to seal them up better. It's often hard to tell if areas such as the edge of windows are sealed up well and using a thermal imaging device lets me know for sure. This camera was pretty straightforward to use. Just plug it in the USB C port of the phone and open the Guide Sensmart app. The biggest minus for me is not being able to take photos in landscape mode when using it. I almost never take portrait shots and the camera plugged into the bottom of the phone gets in the way when holding the phone in portrait position.I wasn't able to find a way to get the photos into my normal photo app which is of course how I transfer them to my laptop. That means taking an extra step to access them within the Guide Sensmart app. These issues are not dealbreakers by themselves and the camera takes nice looking images that accomplish the purpose I ordered this for. However, the inconveniences do kind of add up and I find I'm focusing too much on working around these issues instead of just having fun with a cool imaging camera.

Great camera, but software needs help
Like the title states, it's a great camera, that is unfortunately held back by the app and connector itself. To go over the positives, the camera is effective at highlighting and identifying hot and cold spots around the house with ease. Minimal jitter, the autofocus works well. The distance it can identify and read is fairly long for the use case. That is about the end of the positives.A camera like this is limited by the app itself. The app has no support for use in landscape which makes things awkward when using this, especially when the charging port is on the bottom of the phone. The method in which the camera attaches, naturally makes you hold the phone in landscape. The push notification doesn't clear itself when you're no longer using the app, so you have to toggle notifications off and then on to make it go away. The pictures and videos you take using the app doesn't go to the usual photo gallery, if you need to share the images and videos. You're forced to open the app and use the in app gallery to share the images. As a result from the app not supporting landscape view, any pictures taken are in portrait mode and will be sideways. The in app gallery doesn't have a rotate function in the edit screen that I can find, which is incredibly frustrating.Lastly, the camera has a woefully short USB C connector that doesn't allow you to use the camera with your phone in a case. You have to take your phone out of the case in order to use it. That is unacceptable for professionals that need plug and play when on a job. In order to make this work well, you will need to find a USB C extension to plug into your phone to bridge the gap for the camera, which is a problem in and of itself depending on the kind of extension you use. It can create a failure point in your phone's charging port should you drop your phone or damage the camera itself. All in all, at $300, more care should have been taken in the design of the software and how the camera attaches to your phone. While the camera captures great images, the negatives far outweigh the benefits this provides and I can't recommend this to any professional in the field.

This is one of the neatest cameras I have ever used
This camera takes a bit to configure, but it was so worth it. This thing let's you change the config to show diffrent color for the ability of identifying diffrent tempature grafiances. You can take pictures and also recorde video. This will help you identify hot or cold spots when diagnosing problems from electrical or ac issues to heat loss during the cold winter months. One heature I identify is locating electrical conduit inside a wall. The electrical wires produce heat and allows to identify where they are so u donot cut them when working in the house.
