Just because of the light rain, the delivery person illegally stuffed the package into my mailbox rather than delivering it to my front porch/door. Furthermore, there was no photo taken as proof of delivery, as has always been the procedural step in prior deliveries. The product is really good though and is what the refrigerator manufacturer recommends.

This is the filter recommended for my refrigerator and it works.

This filter no longer fits (as it used to for years) in our 20-yr old Samsung refrigerator... there appears to be a new design change to the fitting (or, a manufacturing defect?). We don't know why Samsung would be unaware of this, and provide no information about this when we call them to let them know about our problem. Additionally, we had set up automatic purchases for this filter (every 6 months). We need to figure out (from Amazon) how to stop any further deliveries of this filter (scheduled to be received IN ADVANCE of the old filter going bad (which puts any we receive beyond a return date, if/when we find these filters no longer fit!). Keep that in mind if you have an older Samsung refrigerator (our old one has been extremely reliable for 20-yrs and still going strong. I suspect new Samsung appliances will NOT be as reliable as our old one). Today, (we all know now) big companies are very much beholden to their stock holders (and not their customers). Unfortunately, the decisions companies are making now-a-days are NO LONGER in the best interests of their customers. It is only 'fortuitous' when Stock holders AND customers benefit each other. Companies must come to understand why their current business models (stock-market driven; AI-driven; subscription-driven; auto-call-center managed; etc) are UNSUSTAINABLE in the long run... doomed to fail. Peoples lives, the greater good (living things), MUST ALWAYS come first. It really is every little thing (combined) we have to deal with (in the real world), isn't it?

My Samsung refrigerator (Model #RS22HDHPNBC) originally came with the DA29-00003F filter but after reading reviews on Amazon I purchased this DA29-00003G filter as my first replacement after 6 months since it is supposed to filter the water better. The new G filter was the same size as the F filter but the "teeth" that hold it in place were shaped slightly different (the G filter teeth have sharp angles whereas the F filter had smooth curves). Despite the difference in the "teeth", the G filter installed easily with no water leak inside the refrigerator. I dispensed water and there was a lot of air in the line that caused splashing (I probably should have tried to fill the filter with water from the tap before I installed it to limit the amount of air), but the air dissipated after the 4th or 5th glass was filled. I originally gave the filter 4 stars because the dispenser was dripping after the replacement, but after a day the dripping stopped. Someone else also noted a drip in their review that resolved over time, they said it was due to air in the line. My wife and I feel the water tastes better after changing to the G filter, it's cleaner tasting than with the F filter. We had reverse osmosis system before, so we are very sensitive to abnormal taste in our water. I noticed on the box that the original F filter was good for 500 gallons whereas the new G filter says it's only good for 300. The original F filter lasted almost exactly 6 months before the water started tasting bad, so I'll be interested to see if the G filter lasts as long since it's not rated for as many gallons. Considering how much more expensive this filter is compared to the generic replacement F filters, I will be disappointed if I don't get 6 months out of each of them. Despite the cost, I am very happy with the filter.

I was reading the other reviews about having to shave the teeth to install. I don't believe it is necessary to do so, or at least I didn't need to do this in order to install. The best suggestion I have is look to the position you first insert it before turning it counterclockwise to install. it just needs enough pressure up to engage and then while twisting, you'll hear the water rush in. dump about a gallon or so and done. if it is taking a lot of pressure to install, try starting the position again. it does line up to the locked position when done.4 stars because the cost is a bit high (it's been creeping up over the past year or so). What you are getting extra from the other versions is that this also filters out the heavy metals, etc. As this is the primary water source for my kid's water bottles, it is worth spending the bit of extra knowing you are getting more unsafe items filtered out.

I had difficulty locating a replacement filter for my Dacor refrigerator at first. However, knowing that Samsung acquired the other brand, I was able to track down this model after a bit of research. I felt comfortable buying a genuine Samsung filter as opposed to a third-party replacement. Switching the old and new filters wasn't too difficult. The directions suggests running many gallons of water through the dispenser to flush the new filter after replacement. This just doesn't seem realistic when you consider how slowly the water emerges from the in-door dispenser.
