Really useful!
I've got a Spaniel with particularly fine hair, that grows into an extremely thick pelt. .....And also grows very fast!. Maintenance of this fine yet dense coat, is extremely problematic. Clippers just "bounce" over the top, and scissors make the mutt looks as if he's been mistaken for a sheep, by a short-sighted shearer; not a good look. These thinning scissors make it possible to reduce the thickness of his coat, all over his body, but work at their best, in places where his pelt grows particularly densely. It takes time, and thus taxes the dog's patience a tad, but the end result is worth it. With the growth thinned, it becomes much easier to "attack" the long growth with scissors, and clippers, without the end result looking as if he's been mown with Granny's dentures. There's a simple technique you need to learn, to use these scissors properly, because, if you don't release the "lock" of hair you're thinning, pulling the scissors away means you've grabbed the growth that hasn't been thinned. But the dog's protests will soon teach you how to do it!. The scissors are well made, and I reckon they'll see both the dog, and I, out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Good and easy to use.
I’ve been using these for years and they are fab! Our dog is a mixed breed and ends up with long hair down her back legs. These are great as I’m a novice and these don’t leave any scissor lines. Just cut, brush and all done.

A good cut!
I have two Springers, who are fairly hairy! Although I only thin the hair around their ears, the scissors are easy to use and do the job well. I would recommend them and I would buy them again if need be.

OK for price
These worked well on on a combed through fairly faine coat but on a wooly or more mattered coat they tend to snag.

Completely Useless
Attempted to cut our Shih Tzu's coat (washed, dried and short coat, so no matts or tangles). These scissors were absolutely useless for either thinning or any form of cutting. Didn't even get a single hair off!Rosewood Soft Protection Salon Grooming Ear/ Face Scissors were, by contrast, fantastically sharp. I will be ordering their thinning scissors.Steer clear of the Mikki's and save yourself some money.

I did wonder if this was the right product for me.
I read a review from a lady who owns a collie. Obviously one can't lose a collies crowning glory (his coat) but one wants him to be more comfortable in the heat. After reading the review, I decided to have a go. They are great. I got my Lhasa Apso from a rescue, and although he wasn't in show coat, it was growing nicely. I love grooming and didn't want to trim him too short. Also, in this heat (and being mostly white) he needs his coat to keep the heat from his skin. So I decided, to make him more comfortable and keep his lovely coat, I would thin his coat out a bit for the summer months. The thinning scissors are great. We still get the time together while I groom him but he is more comfortable. Both (adoptive) parent and woofer ( or should I say yapper) very happy. ( Now, can you invent something to make his voice deeper and less ear-splitting)?

thinning scissors
Well I expected middle of the range , 'okay' , it will do the job type of product for the price but these fall way below. They are just simply blunt! The action cuts a bit of hair but the majority of hair is left bent. It is so frustrating to use and you can forget getting a good job. I am now going to have to buy another pair of much better quality.

Such a big help!
My dog hates being groomed. I can only groom him in short bursts and I struggle to keep on top of the matts that form in his fur. I bought these scissors to see if they would help me break down some of the matts. I use them with a 12 blade matt master which works a treat. On their own the scissors are very useful in cutting out small knots. If you have a dog whose hair gets matted easily, I'd recommend having a pair of these in your drawer. You can cut matts out easily without making the dogs hair look like a chunk has been cut out!!!
