Bought to replace a very old version that I've been using for years which I use at least 4 times a week for rice or vegetables, which is still in great shape but a little stained as it's white. This version is much sturdier and I like the second tier insert it has that my old version didn't. However - there are two major design problem with this version:1) The slots in the bottom of the insert are too big and rice grains get embedded in them - pointed out by a few other reviewers I see. It takes forever to get them out when washing up, particularly if you don't have great eyesight like me as just when you think you've got them all, you turn it over and there's more!! I'm very particular about this as it's a potential cause of food poisoning if you don't get them all out and they go mouldy. This is a serious design flaw!2) Because all the edges are rounded and smooth, the lid slips off very easily and I've had a couple of close calls with burning myself as I try to catch it before it falls offThe older version has a lipped lid which stays put and the holes in the bottom of the insert are so small that nothing gets stuck in them.I've used the new version a few times and it cooks just as well as my old one but I'm getting very annoyed with the two issues above. Very glad I didn't throw out the old one!
