Great rod but shipping is questionable
The rod performs well but be sure to check all the guides out because the shipping method in a flimsy cardboard box might damage the rod

Perfect surf fishing rod!
I recently started surf fishing so I bought this Penn rod. It’s sturdy as can be but still has a great flexibility for tossing out different sizes of lures and baits!

Love This Rod
Beautiful rod, well made love the grip. Will fish with it this week. However, whoever loaded my order put it on the wrong pallet . Should have matched 28129 zip code. Was put on 28001 zip code pallet . Good thing I clicked on detailed tracking or it would have been delayed 3 days. Called the post office at 28001 zip code and picked it up. What a hassle! Amazon let me down badly on the shipping. Glad I checked the detailed tracking or I would be 6 hours away on a fishing trip without this rod. CHECK YOUR TRACKING! You may not get what you ordered if the order got sent to another town miles away.

Worst packaging I have ever seen!
I am not even sure that words will explain this - this $200+ rod came in ripped and torn plastic wrap set in a folded piece of cardboard like a canoe (v-shape) and secured with a zip-tie and part of a product label... WHO DREAMS THIS STUFF UP??? The rod "appears" ok on first look but I will not know until I get out and use it so this review is my insurance to Penn. Worst packaging I have ever seen!

Rod = great, seller shipping = absolute garbage
Love the surf fishing rod but the seller's shipping was absolutely horrendous. Ive purchased items from Japan that have arrived quicker.

the reel eyelets are nice and look sturdy
10' Med Heavy used to catch perch and stripped bass. Using 40lb braid. Break down is 50/50, the reel eyelets are nice and look sturdy. This pole sales at Bass Pro and other sporting good stores, while Amazon has it for $30 bux cheaper. Mated it with a 5000/6000 series reel and it works out nicely. Butt end grip is small diameter and feels good when you grip it. Rated for 1-5 oz lure.
