Worthwhile
This cutter takes some practice, but it's worth it for clean, even watermelon slices. I love how easy it is to use as well as how easy it is to clean.

Great looking item
Great looking item but it was bent double in shipment. Should not be shipped in a bubble envelope.

Where has this been all my life???!!!
How am I a full grown adult and am just now finding out that watermelon cutting technology has advanced so far!? This thing works amazing! No more sawing through a massive watermelon multiple times and then chopping it all up. Well, you still need to cut it in half, but once it's in 2 halves you just sweep this thing along the bottom in multiple strips and it cuts in nice chunks. There aren't really any instructions but it's a simple enough concept and easy to figure out (there's online videos if you really need it). One thing to note is it does make a difference how you hold it as one direction cuts better than another. There's also a finesse to the angle that you hold it and how you sweep it to get perfectly cubed chunks. I haven't quite mastered the technique yet, but even still, I can cut the whole watermelon in half and dump out mostly-cube-shaped pieces about a minute later, without having to slice it all up, and cut all the pieces one by one. It's such a huge time saver. When I'm done, I can throw it in the dishwasher and it's good to go. It feels solidly constructed and appears to be stainless steel and aluminum so it should last for a while. For only $13.99 (at the time of this review) this thing is a fantastic deal and a HUGE time saver and I wish I would've known about it sooner! Everyone I know is getting one of these in their stockings this year. I would definitely recommend it.

Nicely formed slices.
Great not only for watermelon but any kind of melon to give you that formed look and even pieces. Great to use when making a fruit platter. Nice find less mess as you can keep all the watermelon juices inside the melon.

It’s difficult
It’s difficult to use if you don’t know what you are doing . I still don’t get clean cuts but I’m getting there I wish it came with instruction a how to video something.

Well built. Easy to use.
I think there is certainly a technique to learn if you're looking for perfect cubes, but I did find this slicer easy to use and it cut our watermelon without hassle. When I used it like a regular knife, the first pass was a bit choppy with lots of stray and oddly shaped bits of watermelon in the mix. On the next pass, I slid the tool straight down the rind allowing the curve of the tool to follow the shape of the melon - then I dragged it across to slice. This gave me a much cleaner and more uniform cut.I'm sure it will take a little practice, but even a few sloppy cuts were better than having to fully cut the rind and/or having bitter rind pieces attached to the melon. It was also nice to be able to simply take the watermelon half and dump all the cubes into a bowl with very little mess. The tool is solid and well built and looks like it is ready to handle many summers ahead. If you like summer melons, this is a great cutter to have.

Needs practicing
Not as easy as it looks for using. Need to practice multiple times. First time, the watermelon pcs where too small and breaking up. You can end up with lots of wasted watermelon if you do not know how to use it properly.

Who knew there was such a tool!
Sometimes I wonder if carving up a watermelon is worth the effort. It's tedious and messy. Seems I always end up scrubbing the floor afterwards too because of the dripping juices as I cut. No more! This is a great find - I only wish I had seen it earlier. Just cut your watermelon longways and then go to town with this slicer. But be careful, because the leading edges are SHARP! I sometimes slice off a thin piece of the side to give the half watermelon a flat, stable surface which to carve on. You don't want to find finger tips in the bowl!
