300W Power Inverter for Ego 56v Battery, DC 56V to AC 110V~120V Modified Sine Wave Power Supply with AC Outlet and Dual USB

I tried to use this on a hot plate not realizing that such a simple cooking device drew 900W. One minute after opening the inverter, I fried it and filled up the room with massive amount of smoke and burned circuit smell. Most inverters have over watt protection. This one does not. I ruined the invertor in the first minute.

The inverter shutdowns after just 10 min if power consumption is less than 15W (as stated in the manual).As such, it's unreliable if you don't have a high power device or appliance connected.I bought it to power the electronics part of my smoker (fan + sensors) and it just shutdowns every 10 minutes, thus being useless.The original from Ego is less sensitive: it shutdowns after *2h* and the threshold is 10W.

The unit is the size of a small EGO 56V battery. It slides on to the battery's normal mounting hardware. It has one AC socket, two USB-A sockets and one USB-C sockets. It has a small, focused light with a medium, intensity, a high intensity and a flashing mode. It is adequate to light a small area very close to the unit. It is a modified sine wave inverter.The cooling fan seems to run continuously in spite of electrical load at a moderate sound level. Each of the outputs, AC, DC and light have individual switches for power. The buttons are very small, flush mounted and are of the same black color as the surrounding enclosure. That makes them hard to find but also hard to turn on by accident when handling the inverter/battery pack.I first tested this inverter using my oldest EGO OEM 7.5Ah battery, running a 20W LED TV to battery shut-off. The battery shut off after about an hour. The battery was then unable to recharge. I tried jumping the battery using another EGO battery to no effect. The battery was dead. I don't know if the battery failed due to old age or was sent over the edge by this charger. I tried again using a 2.5Ah aftermarket battery for use with EGO products, running it to exhaustion with no ill effects. I am testing it again to ensure that there is no problem. I will report back if there is.After my battery failed, I wrote to Sunmily Store through the Amazon customer support email link. The email was not accepted after three attempts with the message: "The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect." Two stars for non-existent customer support.

Disliked product. Made to look like an EGO product but can't live up to the quality expected. No instructions and even no manufacturers name to look up details. Don't buy it, even the salesman at the Hardware Store. No guarantee information, etc........

Seems to work.

While it does fit the EGO Batteries, it seems to turn off about every 10 minutes regardless of the battery amp/hr or remaining battery level.Thus: it requires constant attendance to function adequately.
