Needs to be attached to a base, and with better screws than those provided. You will need a decent lump hammer and a good swing for larger logs. Sturdy footwear ia also recommended as the split logs have a tendency to land on your toes.

As described by the seller this tool is a great bit of kit for splitting logs it’s so easy to use I mounted mine on a big log to give it stability when using it.

Great tool for splitting kindling safely and as a result allows it to be split thinner. Really only for making kindling with already split logs (will split bigger logs but recommend using an axe as much quicker).

I’m a bit miffed as I ordered this as a gift and have been sent a second-hand one. Not cool.
